NO JOKES PLEASE!!!

I get 40 - 50 of these a day. Now I am even getting ones for breast augmentation. I never open them, I just delete immediatly and then empty my deleted folder, and I have never clicked on any link to get them to remove my name from any list.....yet they still keep coming, and the're breeding like rabbits in my Inbox.

If any of you ladies or gentlemen know of any software(preferably free) than will cut down on these, ones that you use or have first hand knowledge of, please post.

I'm starting to get a complex......!!!

I agree...I am getting spam like carzy...Viagara/Credit Cards/Penis enlargement etc....
The only solution I can see is to change my e-maill address very 6 months...but there must be an alternate solution

Hey Kat.....

Did Tom Clancy say that, or just one of the characters in his books? If so, which book/character? I've read all his fiction so far and I can't recall this quote.
Also, I don't know whether to thank you for removing the link to your site from your picture(everytime I see it, I go there and spend way tooooo much time there.....hehehe) or beg you to put it back....you're a hottie!!!!!!!!!!!

And never give your new email address out to anyone who may put you on a mailing list - example: contests, mailing lists, etc ... The lists get sold time and time again.

Other tip: Never hit the "remove me from mailing list" button. It only brings more spam, as they know it's a "live" addy.

The only thing I can suggest besides changing your email address is to setup a message rule in your email program. In that anything that has in the subject line & message body "penis, increase, viagara" tell the rule to delete it automatically. Its not perfect but may reduce some of the spam. You can filter it alot better but this should give you some ideas. This should work in Outlook and Outlook Express.

dont post your email address on message boards and be cautious of giving it out to people...another thing, have you noticed EVERYONE's email address on forwards you get?? Well, what I do is, when sending out the forward to my friends, I erase the last set of email address(s) which will reduce the risk of somebody getting their hands on all those email add and HOPE that the next person will do the same so my add does not get passed around.

BTW the RCMP is not on the list. They are to exhaust it watching Jean Chrestein and Arar.

use more than one email address. one for friends, one for business and one for signing up for websites. it's a pain but sure helps if you want some privacy.

Stuck in Lodi again
I used to a member of a Yahoo site and I kept getting all kinds of spam to my hotmail address. That's what I used to join this site. When I unsubscribed to that site my spam dropped to almost nothing.

No truth

Spammers send the email to you so that it appears to come from a different email address. If they put their valid email address on it.. that would be too easy to trace back to them.

the only way they know your email address is live is if you click on "Unsubscribe"

One solution not mentioned is what to do with the email AFTER you've received your daily allotment of 50 messages - everything from penis enlargement to viagra to low cost mortgages/prescriptions.

If you're using Outlook, one solution is to redirect those messages to your trash. Do a search under Help for RULES WIZARD and you can have Outlook automatically send an email with whatever words you find common in these junk emails directly to your trash bin.

If you do end up doing that, there's also a setting that will empty your deleted files when you exit Outlook.

Putting these two things together helps a number of people I've done it for (who didn't want to lose their email address).
