Many 4 and 5 star hotel s will rent "day rooms".
I have done it when I had a long layover between flights and even booked a suite to do job interviews when a meeting room in the hotel was not available.
The challenge is in timing - will you get the room then the PFP or the opposite?
Works better for FWB.

Especially ones by the airport - lots of options - most will do day rate based on availability -

Admiral Inn- Sheridan way - Erin Mills / QEW. Nice room $60 + taxes . So $67. 9-3 day rate. Mini kitchen . I could live there temporarily . Renovations. Elevator currently out. Tiny pool . Sauna not working. L2 charger ! This is a small chain with other properties in Burlington and Hamilton .
