I agree. If it was the reverse I think the white guy would have a greater likelihood of receiving a full sentence. Just the double-standard in woke America.
Wish people can move past colour but they simply can't. The punishment should fit the crime but when there's so much public attention justice takes a back seat of late.
I wish people could move past assigning themselves and other people to groups. To me, every person is an individual, not a component of one or more collectives.
The motivation for this is not benign. Being part of a group means never having to take individual responsibility for one's actions; this is probably why ancient executions were perpetrated by stoning.
As part of a group, one may take partial credit for the accomplishments of a different member or member, while accepting none of the blame for a misdeed by any group member.
The concept of group rights is a fallacy. This is based on an inability to distinguish between rights and privileges. If some, but not all, people are allowed to do something, it's a privilege, not a right. Voting is not a right; minors are not allowed to vote, nor those who have been diagnosed as insane, nor non-citizens, nor people in comas, to name but four groups who are denied participation in democratic elections. Groups CANNOT have rights, because groups do not have responsibilities nor accountability.
Assigning other people to groups, however, allows the discontented to 'take revenge by proxy'.
