We went to Lowe's tonight (still open in our city) thinking that we would use our time stuck inside to get some painting done. The guy at the paint counter said that this morning they'd had a two and a half hour line a people waiting to get paint, as everyone is having the same idea.

Anyone else doing Chinese virus remodeling?

It should be called CCP coronavirus. Don't believe the Chinese Communist party spin. They covered it up for weeks, putting the entire world into this situation. Don't stop reminding everyone of the origins of the virus. Not the Chinese people - their evil corrupt communist overlord.

it doesnt make sense to me to spend money when money may become a problem in the future.
It's great that businesses and financial institutions are offering bill payment relief in the form of deferments for 60 day or 6 months... but people need to understand that if you can still pay your fixed cost bills, DO IT... if not, in a few months we are going to have a whole lot of people in a really bad financial situation.

Grandson: Grandpa, what did you do in the great pandemic of 2020 which killed millions and plunged the world into a global depression?

You: I made the important argument for political correctness, so that even if people were destitute or dead, they wouldn't be offended.

LMAO

To answer the original question, I'm only spending on essentials. Bootstrapping for the unknown. It's not so much the virus itself, but how long it's going to be around and wreaking economic havoc.

However there is nothing in the post which you quoted that is not 100% factual.
Aside from the fact that it is now also an Italian virus, an Iranian virus, a Canadian virus, a French virus, an american virus...
Get my drift?

Back in the 6ix
I'm doing a few things, went to Home Depot no waiting got four cans. In fact I've made a few trips not that many people when I walk by the paint department. Went to a tile store and it wasn't that busy, believe they are going to be closed next week onwards to the general public but are doing deliveries to contractors. Got all my stuff to keep me busy doing renovation projects for the rest of the month.

I have a couple of cans of paint that have been sitting in my basement for a couple of years. Maybe now I'll get around to using them!

Oh.

Did the Italians, Iranians, Canadians and French suddenly develop a taste for fresh, Market-killed Pangolin, pre-marinated in bat juice?

I must have missed that stall at our St Lawrence Wet Market.

I suspect you had pork from North America.

The Swine flu pandemic of 2009 originated in USA. I assume you refer to it as the American flu.
