I got off the Richmond ramp from the DVP and went on Queen St. I was right behind this badass Maybach for the whole drive until he drove into the underground City Hall parking lot ...

This is perhaps the most expensive 4-door car I have seen on the streets!

Damn it's a nice car! The cool thing is, he had a very interesting license plate. :D

Does the plate start with a GM... something? Color: Dark red, or was it dark grey. Saw a Maybach a few weeks ago on the DVP south from Hwy 7. NIce ride.

Nope ... the plate is "*dayweek" [where * = anything] to protect the owner's privacy ... the car was in black ...

I can't believe Torontonians are so filthy rich that they (we) can afford these super-luxury cars. From pictures, the interior of the Mayback makes a Mercedes S600/ BMW 760Li look like Civics ... LOL ... even thought the Maybach is made by Mercedes and the interior is very similar to the S-Class, the little things and upgrades make it that much more exotic ...

I've seen a black or very dark blue Maybach on the Gardiner. The car that blew me away sighting it though was a 56 silver Mercedes 300 Gull Wing. I've only seen one on the road, and two at RM Auto near Chatham.

There is often a two-tone Maybach (medium blue & light blue) parked in the Bay/Bloor and Yorkville areas in the late afternoons.

The production version id not quite as striking as the original concept from 1997. It took Merceds over five years to put the car into production, during which time Hyundai borrowed styling for the XG300 and and beat them to the marketplace. The rear quarter and trunk motif were also echoed in the 2001 Elantra & 2002 Sonata.

Thus Mercedes-Benz ended up with a flagship vehicle that looked like a supersized Hyundai. But it is classic and the sheer size of it gives the car a definite presence.

I used to drive a Ferrari in the late 80's, back then it was a serious ride. Neighbours assumed I was in some drug dealer/organized crime racket.
Now days a 150,000 dollar car is a joke. These high end super cars start around 200-250,000. There's plenty of money in TO and lots of exotic cars cruising around.

JUST THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WORK EVER
sadly enough, the guy driving it, was in the right-most lane, but driving over the white stripes going over, and into the left lanes.
He was one arrogant shit, pulled up next to him complimenting the car and talk about a pompous fuck. I would have loved to key the thing, but I had things to do that morning. :p

Add to that, the other day saw one of these puppies *drool*

I'd be torn if I had to choose between the two, but I'd probably take the German route.
"German engineering" says it all.

Just below Dundas Sq. on Victoria St. there is a parking lot on the east side. There are 2 Maybach vehicles (Black & Grey) parked there daily right beside the ticket booth. On a bi-weekly basis the owners change to their Bentley sports models (Black & Grey) as well. Maybach is a damn nice car, *blockish looking* but damn nice IMHO.

BTW the owners are brothers who are diamond dealers working down the street and own the damn building as well.

Best Regards

Well then maybe it was his brother Dash heading back to the city hall parking garage again for "something".

that porsche is sweet but in a recent time trial (with Jay Leno and some other pro F1 driver) it couldn't top 200 mph. IMHO if you're selling a "super car" it better go over 200.....

As for the owners being arrogant fucks, I remember in the 80's when the countach was in it's heyday on this hot summer day there was one on the side of the road around yonge and eg (where I worked). It was parked in front of one of those Goodyear service centres. My buddies and I went over to see what the flap was about and this I D I O T was pouring coolant into the rad, then revving the fuck out of it and just blowing the coolant out of the top of the rad everywhere. He did this for a full 4 litre jug. The shit was everywhere.

So one of the mechanics walked over to see what was going on and saw what the dolt was doing so the
mechanic says: What's wrong?
The owner says: it's running hot
mechanic says: so what do you think you're doing with the coolant
The owner: WHat do you THINK? Putting more IN (I thought, more like putting MORE ON (aka moron)
The mechanic: You won't put anymore in THAT way
The Owner: Why don't you go back to changing tires and let someone who knows what they are doing take care of this? (then he proceeded to go in and buy ANOTHER jug of coolant)

That's when we laughed at him and walked away.

Problem is with guys like this is they think they know everything when if fact they know nothing at all.

Very nice cars, but there is no appeal to me for the maybach. Not sporty enough for me.. LOL Trust me the BMW 760Li sedan is a sweet car. It is very roomy in the back seats even for a tall guy like myself, I don't have to worry about leg room. Even when driving it, it is a smooth car. I like this car over the Maybach.

The low end Maybachs run over $300k. The higher end ones, the 72 and 82 (I think, don't quote me on it) can run well over $500k. It all depends on what the customer wants inside. They all run the twin turbo engine, over 500 hp.

Got an SLR in my garage ! :D

That is a given.. When you go into extra options on a car, the price changes allot.
