Understood and point well taken. But just to be sure so that there is no misunderstanding, had I taken this on as a commercial venture it would have been promoted as a
Ra Media or Masquerade event and not a Terb party. I would have just approached Fred as a sponsor.
Lord knows I have enough banners here through the clients/products/services we represent that I DO NOT have to take on the Terb name in order to promote my vested interests. Nor would I have to ask for permission if I promoted said commercial venture in the advertisers' section. Simply put, I would have had equal access to the traffic here either way.
If anything, this party is going to cost us a fair bit of money. That I can assure everyone here. I'm getting involved simply because I want to. Granted, it does get our name out there. I won't deny that. But I can think of a multitude of ways to market our name and our products at a much cheaper rate with more mileage in return than through a local industry party.
It's the Christmas season and I hate to see bickering at this time of year. Hopefully, this will shed a clearer light on the situation and my point of getting involved. It is what it is and nothing more.
