Man....you gotta feel for Marty Schottenheimer. I mean all these heartbreaking playoff loses. Remember all those gut-renching last minute losses to Elway's Broncos when he coached the Browns?
Or in KC when his kicker missed 3 field goals in the SAME playoff game! Now this.... San Diego SHOULD have won the game.

I was only listening to the TV in the background but didn't he cost his team a touchdown by getting a penalty for running on the field? That's the kind of undisciplined stupidity the players get criticised for. The coaches are supposed to keep their wits about them. well, jets gave them a second chance with that penalty in red zone and chargers didnt take advantage of it...so be it ...i should of won with jet s by more than 3 and now its 3 pts so i lost.....dam jets cost me again...with that penalty...but chargers didnt deserve to win...too many mistakes and missing field goal in game like this...well you can t expect to win if you do that...besides jets miss their first field goal attempt too which would of put the game out of reach so either way chargers didnt deserve to win that game.
Disagree. I thought SD was a B grade team by conservative coaching decisions, epitome of playing to not lose stabbed himself in the back. Schittinheimer and SD deserved to lose. BTW, I thought NYJ are a B grade team too, good but not excellent, carbon copy of SD. They don't stand a chance, unless beneficiary of alot of mistakes.matrix2004 said:.... Coaches who opt for extreme conservative playcalling when a game is up for grabs (Schottenheimer, Lloyd Carr at the college level) drive me crazy!!
i agree...sd didnt deserve to win... jets even missed a field goal at beginnning of game and then gave them a chance with that idiot penalty from eric barton..i won t forget this guy for while...idiot...but frankly when you play conservative and rely on a rookie to kick 40 yards with that much pressure on the line you are taking a gamble and i thot he should of went further and take a chance to go deeper...but he didnt and that cost him the game...
