It is a good thriller
And with a good example of what special effects were using models and optical illusions before the days of CGI.

Godzilla vs The Smog Monster (Hedorah). Imagine a monster that can convert pollution into sulfuric acid. Even Count Floyd is terrified.

Finally got around to watching the 1960 Wilder's film The Apartment. Great movie set around the holidays.
I haven't seen that but I've heard people say its one of their favorite movies of that era.

I'm getting more into silver screen cinema so I'm by no means an afficionado. I'm more of 70-80s movie enthusiast. That said, this movie by all measures is really really good.

I'm same as you and there are still so many 70's and 80's movies I haven't seen. But yes I do get more of an appreciation for the silver screen classics the more I watch them.

I might be missing what you're implying - care to elaborate?
Watch the movie. I don't want to spoil it.

But.... spoil alert below

Scroll up - I did watch it. Again, care to elaborate on your initial post? I'm assuming your hinting/referring to some of the salacious themes / storylines for its' time, but not entirely sure.

I also break out the dvd's this time of year and re-watch a bunch of the Looney Tunes/Bugs Bunny cartoon collection I hold.

It's definitely a must see. Jack Lemon is outstanding. Shirley MacLaine and Fred McMurray (My 3 Sons).

Billy Wilder's scathing satire about office politics. I didn't know who Fred McMurray was when I first watched the film. This was Jack Lemmon's next classic film after Mr Roberts.

There's nothing that Jack Lemmon couldn't do.

There is that late night seasonal favorite:

... of course I still have not made it to the end. I seem to lose interest before I get there.
