Can't imagine going to see an SP hammered. It would dull the experience. I suppose if the SP was unattractive, a bottle of hooch would make her look a lot better.

Still waiting for my results. My other blood work is fine -- white blood cells, etc were right in the middle of the normal ranges. Even compared them to my last results from two years ago -- no change. Never had an HIV test before so hence the anxiety. I'm sure all will be ok -- never even had an STD before, and the only 'risky' behaviour has been half a dozen slurpy BBBJs from SPs that were reviewed positively on TERB. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I was just going to ignore this thread and just have a good laugh at some of the posts. Since it’s been going on and on, I thought I would venture some information regarding HIV.
It’s been shown in studies that saliva inactivates the HIV virus and therefore cannot infect the surface tissue of the penis. The concentration of the virus in the saliva is very low for infection purposes. So with these facts in mind I continue to enjoy BBBJ, but condom FS.

BTW...what is the HIV transmission rate through a properly used, fresh condom with no flaws? Is it zero, or is it technically possible for a virus to pass through the membrane?

I've been hobbying for approx 15 yrs. This is my first HIV test. I've only partaken in BBBJs for the last 3 yrs or so -- approx 8 SPs in that time frame, and I think most or all were positively reviewed on this board so I felt confident going into the encounter.

I'm not sure what's more disturbing ....... the fact you've been hobbying for 15 years and this is your first test ........ or the fact you've been hobbying 15 years and haven't educated yourself about STDs....... given a little thought I guess they both go hand in hand.

A little information goes a long way and saves a lot of anxiety that you've experienced for no good reason. Hopefully a lesson learned for you and others who've bothered to wade through yet another thread about STDs and the risks ......

Let's face it, hobbying is a high risk activity and if you're not prepared to accept that you should get out. But if you learn a bit about the risks and recommended precautions then you can limit your risks and enjoy yourself. How guys continually have "awakenings" after many years of high risk activity simply amazes me.

Not really. So you passed your HIV test. Congrats, but what about other diseases that are far more likely than HIV and could remain undetected until too late?

Did she have open sores due to a gum disease? This is very difficult to detect. How much saliva was left over that you may have had cross contact with any of your blood? Did you DFK afterwards? Are you certain she might not have transfered any microscopic bugs that may have infected you? How do know your bed is free of mites and other assorted bed bugs that may be a vector? How do you know she didn't just rim another dude and given you hep or dysentery? Or that she had BBFS with her man and then you just DATYed her?

I'd keep worrying if I were you.

Yeah, there are a LOT of other things you can get besides HIV. The good news is the rest of them don't kill you. So it is good news.

The bad news is several of them are uncurable (like herpes).

That said, they won't kill you... just make you very very uncomfortable... so make up your own mind.
