What the hell are they up to now? Spray breast cancer germs on their enemies?

I traveled extensively in the US, and collaborate with many High Technology American Multinational companies including the US army. It's the political system I find hard to take.
As far as your comments are concerned they are off the mark.
I turned down the opportunity to live in the US. You see not every body is envious of others, there are people who are contented with their life's achievements.
I find you a intelligent person when I read your posts, so I was surprised by those comments above since you don't know anything about me.

Fair enough question. You are right I don't know anything about you . Today was just not the day to make a crack about Americans. Even though I'm Canadian I feel a great deal of empathy for their frustration and anxiety over what today represents. I just lashed out against an anti US sentient with a gut reaction. I'd just finished dealing with the self loathing woody in another thread and saw it starting all over again.

As far as I'm concerned the exchange was done, its in the past now but I'm still pissed that those terrorist bastards are out there and here in our midst.

I need more Black Wych now, feel like getting Esco'd.

Cheers

....well lets do not go far away from the topic of this thread. India is definitely a traditional place and not very open to voyerism, nudity and swingerclubs. However, with international business coming into the country, India, but only in the big cities with an international airport has opened up a bit. Sure, if you a are really patient and have time you might find a good escort but still, it is far easier to fly to Thailand and, the time for the trip included, you might find faster what you are looking for....On the other hand, India has one of the finest and prettiest women on this planet, I do not remember the name of a former Miss World from India, the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen....

Padma Lakshmi is pretty hot, but unfortunately, I've been psychologically scarred (and scared) forever by the sight of too many brown, wrinkled, sagging midsections that elderly Indian women seem to like exposing from underneath their saris. Blech!

Stay in a 5 star hotel, pass a couple of 100 rupee notes to the concierge (USD 2.5) and you can have your choice of any type of girl you want. Will cost you approximately 250 USD for a gorgeous lady. I know that sounds expensive but its not when you think you have her for the night. Good luck!!

That would explain a lot. It would seem that woody and the tov are therefore just traveling in the USA and clearly left what modest grey matter they have back in their mud hut.:D

My hobbying experiences in India are old, and so probably of limited value. But for what's they're worth...

First of all, if you have the option to travel a bit, you have Thailand that's relatively close by. So if you have a block of time you can devote to hobbying, go there instead. As a mongering destination, India just doesn't compare.

But if India's your only option, and you have time, and patience, it can be a lot of fun. Problem is, it's very very difficult for a first time visitor who does not speak the language. The scene is discreet, unless you are in Goa, or Bombay...and anyway I wouldn't recommend either of those. No, the true appeal of India as a mongering destination is the large number of attractive women who are ready to go for it if you know how and when to make the offer with discretion. I've had great times there for very little $, picking up office and shop girls as well as students.

In general, hotel busboys, clerks, and touts are out to scam you. Nothing more, nothing less. If they offer to bring you a bollywood beauty - it's bullshit. But like every other negotiation in India...if you play hardball, it could work in your favour. Don't be rude, just state clearly and forcefully what you're after and what you'll pay. Leave no doubt that they won't get a single rupee if they bring you an ugly or unwilling girl. Don't pay more than $250.00, and for that you better be getting a very attractive girl who's pse for all night.

My last time there two years back, I stayed at the Intercontinental Grand. Was recognized immediately by a hotel tout who knocked on my door before I even threw the luggage on the rack. Offered me a beautiful "Playboy" for $500.00 U.S. I laughed and told him if he was a good boy I'd buy him a cold coffee for his nice story. A couple of hours later in the lobby he approached me again. I pretended to be interested in a magazine, while he begged me to give him a chance to bring me a girl. After several minutes I allowed him to think he was getting to me, and offered him $200.00 for a girl, then just when he thought I was going to pay, I told him to forget it, that I didn't believe he could do what he said. Got up to leave, with him tugging on my arm and begging for money. Shook him off and pointed at the hotel registration desk, which was staffed by a young girl with killer looks. I told him, if you can get me something like that, I'll pay you $50.00 more than you've been asking. Sure enough, three hours later, he shows up with the very girl I'd pointed out. Super discreet of course, because she was risking her job. But fun. You can't have that kind of thing happen in the West. I love Asia.

You go man. Seems a lot of people just flap their mouth without the faintest idea about anything. India is a whole new country now what with a booming economy and a galloping GDP.
Talking of escorts, go with the upscale escort agencies and you will be in heaven with some top model or movie star look alikes. The kind of women most guz probably pay in the range of $500+ / hr, but you would probably be paying around INR 10,000( which is like $250) for 2 hrs. Go chew on that.

I choose to ignore some of the other uninformed remarks.

my friends tell me there are some hot eastern euro chicks in delhi for about the price everyone has been saying ($250)...the Indian girls aren't as easy to pick up and the society looks down on stuff like this..they basically haven't been raised to have the option of even considering escorting, stripping etc...

and being a tourist don't even attempt to ask the wrong girl for some action, you never know who she is with and sex is a big taboo over there...going up to a secretary or student isn't even worth it at all...don't risk your lives overseas for some action, just go for the girls that are willing (ie. ads, internet agencies etc.)

buddy of mine had a hot russian for 250...full PSE for the whole night...added in another guy for another 100...they found the agency through a local newspaper ad...

Thats the way to conduct business in India, learn from this smart guy.
If you have the money the place is paradise with some of the best looking women in the world, available for modest rates.
Thailand does not have these good looking women.

Good post, Chimpanzeethat! Hmm, I stayed at the Grand, now you've given me some ideas for the next time!

With the booming economy, if you go with an open mind and a good attitude, it can be paradise. But if you are expecting the genteel civility and white bread of the Granite Club, you may not find it. There are such places, but you got to have a well connected buddy to invite you.

That has to be one of the most ignorant statements I've read on TERB. You've obviously never been to India, and likely learned what little you know about it via TV news. Tell me, have you ever even been out of North America?

If you'd ever stepped foot in the country, you'd know how widespread and severe the poverty is there. When I am in India, every time my car is stopped at a traffic signal, children come up to my window and beg for money. In the empty lots next to the new and modern office building I was working in, there were people living in tents constructed of materials scrounged from garbage dumpsters.

The IT outsourcing boom has benefitted only a small percentage of the population. India has a population of over a billion. Most of the country is still very poor.

Hobbying in India is difficult for a visitor. You really need to know what you are doing and have very reliable inside info otherwise risk a bad experience. I've been there several times on business and despite have some pretty good contacts I find it is not worth the hassle and hold out until I get back to TO or go to some other more hobby friendly country.

I've been to India several times, and don't find the comment that is the subject of your post so very ignorant. In fact there is a new India, comprised of a steadily growing middle class, and that development has been good for visiting hobbyists.

When I first went to India, in 86, yes back then it was difficult to notice anything but grinding poverty. Not so any more. In fact, if you travel around Asia, you'll meet many representatives of India's new-moneyed class - touring the continent courtesy of their new disposable income. It's easy to identify them, they tend to be just as crass and boorish as Americans...but the skin tone is a little darker, and they have better taste in food. ;)

Yeah, now it is difficult to notice MOSTLY anything but grinding poverty. India has made great strides, with rapid economic growth, their IIT schools are top notch, and they have a growing educated middle class with some wealth. But the majority of the country is still poor with more than half the country still living in poverty and 25% of the people are considered destitute. There are some nice hotels, restaurants and shops but one does not need to go far to see abject poverty right around the corner (or from your 5-star Oberoi hotel room window in Bangalore as I can attest to)

Oh fer chrissakes. The emergence of a new affluent middle-class in India does not change the fact that poverty there is widespread and severe.

How exactly does the presence of monied Indians on vacation throughout Asia refute my claim that poverty is widespread in India. Let's see, you're an idiot, therefore I can conclude that public schools in Canada suck? No, I can't conclude that.

It's easy to identify them, they tend to be just as crass and boorish as Americans...but the skin tone is a little darker, and they have better taste in food. ;)
They're easy to identify by the odor. My last flight on Jet Airways from Delhi to Bangkok stunk worse than a sewer. The concepts of "deodorant" and "anti-perspirant" haven't yet been outsourced to India.
