Or was it lol?

Who besides me fucked their girlfriend that night immediately following the broadcast?

I was planning to see the recently released movie "Fly Me To The Moon" about how they shot a faked moon landing in case the real one didn't come off, but the reviews are terrible...

Watch "Capricorn One" about a fake Mars landing, when the real mission was scrubbed, Stars Sam Waterston, James Brolin and OJ Simpson as the astronauts who are forced to participate in the hoax.

Well 'History was made 55 years ago - yesterday' historically but if your watching the telly in the UK I think it would be today. If events happen on the earth, we use local time for recording the event. But this happened on the moon - it is not in anyway connected to earth so how do you chose a reference that relates to earth ? How do they relate future events on Mars ?

On earth we selected a universal time reference GMT/UTC so that we can have a universal way of referencing events around the earth. We need the ability to extend this reference to events throughout the universe. I think we should form a committee and propose TERB time. It is as if TERB time is one half of a quantum entangled clock at any other location in the universe. Speed of light and distance become irrelevant. Any event from moon landing, to an asteroid impact on a planet on the other side of the galaxy - is instantly aware of the event at their own local time reference.

I see a Nobel Prize in the near future. I elect Ginger/Heidi to collect it in her usual Cafe Atlantis outfit. 😋

(Yes, I'm having a coffee and bored as I write this)

Thanks to the Nazi.

  • Apollo program director Sam Phillips was quoted as saying he did not think that the United States would have reached the Moon as quickly as it did without von Braun's help. Later, after discussing it with colleagues, he amended this to say he did not believe the United States would have reached the Moon at all.[18]: 167

Old Bob Hope joke. When the sputnik was put in orbit. The only reason the Russians are winning the space race is cause they've got better German scientists than us.

June 20th 1969 I was watching the moon landing in Fort Saint John in a motel with 3 other encyclopedia sales guys. Driving there I heard Honky Tonk Women for the first time on the car radio. Neither impressed me that much at the time.

I whole heartedly recommend this movie. It's not 100% factual accurate, but it captures the spirit of Australia's role in the transmission of the broadcast of the landing on the moon.
