I have to agree with all points made.

I will add to the left lane banditry, the new breed. These are the people who get right over and start working their phone, be it texts, emails or talking and they are not passing any vehicles, but creating a line of traffic behind them as they have slowed to just above the speed limit, knowing that the road ahead of them is clear, so they do not have to pay attention to what's in front of them. :frusty:

And some of theworst douchery are the assholes who use the on and off ramps to move ahead a car length or two. I am with those that oppose this kind of driving as it shows what douchebags they really are. They must be a real treat to be around in a social setting with their me first attitude.

Addition to the Look talker driver is the Look talker passenger.
I know the one guy who I will no longer drive with. Unless he's terminally injured and needs to go to the hospital he's not getting in my vehicle again.
He is a large man, 6'4" 300lbs. When he talks in the vehicle and for some reason thinks you are not listening or hearing him he leans forward and over facing you making sure he gets his desired response.
Buddy, we are less than two feet apart, I can hear you. I'm busy watching all the developments around us. It's better I watch that than the expression on your self important face.
Leave me my space, I'm working here, guiding 2.5 tons of high speed steel and aluminum.
Even in a crowd I hate close talkers.

I get this from passengers that are non-drivers ( never driven before ). I'm driving and they want me to look at some document or text we are talking about.

Worst is when i ask them to google MapQuest to get directions for our destination and they hand me the phone with directions.
"Dude, I'm driving here !!!!".

I hate when 3 car on the 3 line highway go with same speed side by side( 95km/hour usually) and they blocked the all 3 lines for long time. Those are the biggest assholes on the highways.
The car on the passing lane is the total douche on this one.

A tailgater up your ass in the left lane when you yourself are unable to go faster because of cars directly in front of you. So I'm going to pull over so that you can shift up one car length ??

And when I'm stuck behind this:

There is a study somewhere that shows those people who leave a large gap improve overall traffic speeds because they create opportunities for smooth lane changes by others and that results in fewer slowdowns in heavy traffic.

And if you don't want me to tap my brake, don't follow too closely. I'm not going to brake check you, but you really ought to be 2 to 3 seconds back.

I have noticed an increasing number of tailgates who TEXT ON THEIR PHONE while tailgating so my tolerance for tailgates is much lower than it was ten years ago.
I always leave that 2 or 3 seconds back and that prompts people all the time to cut in front of me. No biggy. They're only just in front of me so that's what? One second really.

A Toe Tapping Note: The point of signals is to alert other drivers. As my instructor repeatedly said, brake lights are a necessary signal that you are reducing speed, even if you are sneakily doing it by easing the accelerator. When you do that you're relying on the guy behind to be better-trained than you. No one who is following at a safe distance has any reason to be annoyed by one flash— unless they were day-dreaming and instinctively over-reacted.

Or were following closer than safety allows.

My own beef is failure to signal: Mostly turns, lane-changes, and start-ups from the curb, but guys imperceptibly slowing from traffic speed to a stop are also in that grouping.

Your place!!
Probably already been mentioned, if you are being passed by people in the lanes on either side of you, you're probably in the WRONG FUCKING Lane!! Move over to the right!! That annoys me and I run into it every day !!!!

Look Talkers....

What the hell is a look talker?....Well, picture two people in a car. You are traveling at 80km/h. You are at most 24 inches away from each other. Whenever the driver talks, he has to turn his head and look at the passenger while doing so. WHYYYYY ??? WHYYYYY ??? They are 2 freaking feet from you !!! You know who they are, they can certainly hear you, and at 80km/h they sure as fuck did't leave in the middle of your conversation. WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD TO TALK TO THEM ?!?!?!?! Your head turns right, your car starts to drift right....
Maybe their friends are more attractive than yours

Yet if you have the need to 'warn' people every 10 seconds or so, there's something severely wrong.

I'm definitely with you on turn signals. The point of signals is to warn other drivers of your intentions. I trust myself, but I don't trust those around me...which I think is the right mindset on the road.

But as for brake lights, I don't use them unless I have to. I'll cruise to a red light/stop sign, so as not to wear out my brakes. And I rarely use brakes on the freeway unless there's some heavy braking in front of me. A little bit of observation ahead of you goes a long way into not having to brake. So I get annoyed when those in front of me unnecessarily press their brakes, especially when no one is in front of them! All it does is start a chain reaction of drivers hitting their brakes.

Anyone who needs brake lights for a mildly slowing car is someone I don't want on the road!

Because cruise control is for fucking morons who can't drive.

...
You'd have to be a fucking moron NOT to use cruise on extended highway trips (but I'm sure you are such an amazing driver that you manage to keep a constant speed for hours on end). Of course there are guys who think they are Mario Andretti because they can drive at 120 kph.

When I first moved here from out west I was shocked at how few people here signaled lane changes. But then I learned that it was because if you signal a lane change on a highway, the idiot in the next lane and behind you will come charging up to block you out.

Yeah I hate ppl who tap their brakes when I get too close. It is not personal, sometimes I am changing lanes and need to get to close to get to the other lanes and the merge into other lanes flow and these dicks think this approach works. Only thing it does is it sparks road rage. It is not personal, all we are trying to do is merge or exit or prepare for downstream exits or get to the proper lane.

Also ppl that leave like 10 car lengths in front during the thick during rush hour on major highways.
PPL tap brakes because they think you're following too closely. It's a way to say "back the fuck off cuz if you run into me, it's your fault".

8. Drivers who merge the highway at less than 100 km/h.

Punter, I rarely use cruise control. Was driving from west end to Markham on the 407. Uncle in passenger seat says, "use cruise control". So I indulged. It wasn't a bad idea. I could give my foot a rest and stay at a constant speed. Especially good since there were so many fricken cops along that stretch, and I kept the older ladies in the back seat at bay.

I can't figure out drivers who drive the same speed in the country and in town. When the speed limit is 80 or 90 kpm they are cruising along at 70 kpm. When they come to a town where the speed limit drops to 50 kpm they continue on at 70 kpm.

For me, it's someone who thinks we're on the autobahn.

I'm in the left lane moving at a very good constant speed with the traffic flow (which I might add could be above the speed limit too), and some yahoo in his big pick up thinks he is king of the road and expects me to move over.

Then he passes me and eventually gets in front of me. Thing is, in the long run, I pass him or he hardly advances, because you can't go faster than the flow of traffic, especially in a big ass pick up.

Some people are simply not patient, and in their efforts to try to "beat the traffic" or "push their way through", achieve hardly any progress.

Usually, I will move over for a faster car, even if I'm above the speed limit, when the traffic isn't heavy (hey, let HIM get caught by a cop - as he can be my track sweeper).
