i think it is an unspoken thing that teachers shouldn't make public the drug/alcohol use when they are an influence. not sure if it is in the contract or not. i doubt people care if you drink or whatever in your own time but when the parents of the kids you are teaching see you on twitter with crunk inked on your bottom lip and bragging about "getting fucked up" they may not want you around their kids.
Understood. Hope these parents feel the same way when teachers break the law by walking out on an illegal strike. BTW: There are still parents (particularly in one religion) who don't want homos teaching their kids.
