i'm in the market for a new bbq. i'm really leaning towards the napolean prestige 2 in the coloured enamel not stainless steel.

http://www.napoleongrills.com/Websh...ls/PT450RB.html

any comments or other makes i should look at?

i'm going to go natural gas this year. no more tanks! the prices i'm getting includes delivery and assembly. so far my best price is $1500 cash. i've compared the quality of the napolean to the weber and all though the webers are nice the napolean uses heavier guage stainless on the burners as well as the grills among other things.

Weber all the way

My personal preference has always been Weber.

I've had a natural gas model at home for more than 6 years, and a propane one at the cottage for 4. No complaints with either one.

If you've been a propane guy for a long time, you will find that NG cooks differently. It's actually better. NG gives off more moisture when it burns, which means things are less likely to dry out.

If you do go for the Napoleon, I'm sure you won't be disappointed either.

I've had a natural gas Napoleon for a number of years and I love it. A number of friends and relatives have bought them after seeing mine. It is well made. The only problem I've had is with the igniter.

The infra-red rotisserie burner is great. And it's made in Canada!

Vermont Castings imho has a better bang for the buck than any of these other pretenders. Weber makes a great BBQ but overpriced. CFM distributes in canada. THink you can get them at Home Depot.

If you want to go and browse models first, go to Sobies BBQ on willowdale just north of sheppard (West side 200M north of Shep) or Ontario BBQ on Langstaff just off the 400. Both have excellent selections

Consider a smoker/hardwood bbq as well. For special occasions u can use it, and there only couple hundred. And you will get the best results.

My Dad has one of these: http://www.weber.com/bbq/pub/grill/2005/gas/gg_sum_gd6.aspx

It's a very nice BBQ that's well built and most importantly very functional as well. I like the ability to control the heat in pretty much any fashion. The burners themselves (6 of them!) are logically laid out to avoid any cold spots on the grill. It all amounts to a BBQ that grants you the ability to cook several different things at different temperatures all at the same time.

BBQs

Look for a Weber around $1000-1500, or a Broil King around 800-1000. Both are awesome grills, really well built and cook great. i've owned both. Stay away from any that are made in China, including Centro at the Tire. Langstaff and Sobie's are both great stores.

I've had a Napolean for 6 years and the igniter has yet to fail . Just lucky I guess but I use it about 3 times a week even in winter.

I'll add my endorsement of the Napoleon. I've had mine for 8 years now, and my igniter has never failed. I did have a problem with one of the gas valves, but the vendor came to my home and replaced it under warranty. I use it on all but the coldest days of the year. I love it!
