Always book via a travel agency. In the last 15 years i had 3 booking cancelled due to hurricane. All of them were simply rebook via the travel agency without me having to do anything.

Even when you find the trip yourself on the internet just pass on the booking reservation number to a travel agency. It wont cost you more and you will be protected.

I'm finding it harder and harder to find a good travel agent. They are being decimated by the online sites like Uber is doing to cab drivers.

why focusing on finding a good one? find the biggest one. Once you made your search and get a reservation number transfer that number to travel agent. They will di the final booking and thus protect you.

The frequency of US hurricanes peaked during the 1880s and has been declining ever since.

Blue Alert: Cancun, Riviera Maya could be out of the woods as Hurricane Beryl slips south

Those predicted trajectories are still at least 24 hours away from any final forecast as to exactly where Beryl will land. Most trajectories, however, have Cancun positioned out of Beryl’s potential cone.

Mexico’s SMN also shows Beryl heading south toward the Belize border with Cancun out of the cone. July 1, 2024.
On Sunday, trajectories predicted Beryl to make landfall around the Sian Ka’an Biosphere south of Tulum, however, those trajectories now have Beryl moved even further south. The southern movement is likely due to wind sheer.
