Wow i missed the game but i forgot the Leafs were missing so many guys. I wonder how good the Sens feel about their "win".

If you take away the Captain, the starting goalie, and the teams best offensive forward, then there isn't much of a team left.

I agree with Goldenboys comments.

Excuses, excuses, excuses!!! Note: No goals from Ottawa's first line tonight!

I believe even Kathleen would agree that injuries are a part of the game and you just have to suck it up!! Sundin is/was only out for 1 game. Are you saying that you can't win without him? That is too bad, what if he gets hurt and is gone for the season? No more wins? Tis a team sport my friend. Good teams play past the injuries, just look at Detriot as an example.

Your team from the forwards, defence and goalie played a crappy team game and that is reflected in the score. Example; Spezzasgoal. Spezza wins a face of in his defensive end, thecentre doesn't pick him up and he charges down the ice, interesting to note the person that feed him the puck from behind the net was a Ottawa defencemen ( leschyhyn ) and Spezza came into the slot, to the pass and fired it pass Kidd. So, where was the winger that should have picked up an Ottawa defenceman getting down low and behind the net? Where was the Toronto Centre that should have picked up Speeza? And lastly, where were the Toronto defenceman on this play?

Ottawa was playing without it's starting goalie ( Lalime ) and injuries to Fisher, Varada, Pothier, Volchenkov. So that is 2 starting defencemen, 2 starting forwards and 1 starting goalie. Sorry, no excuses for a 7 to 1 blow out becuase you have some players sitting out and some injuried.

Not to make excuses for the leafs (they don't need one) but that wasn't the toronto maple leafs playing last night. Sure the uniform was there, and some of the regular team were there, but put a B team against an A team and the A team will win everytime.

I couldn't watch the whole game but hats off to the sens, they could have made it 12 - 1 had they pressed like it was the playoffs.

Hats off to Roberts, Tucker and Neuy for trying to lead the second stringers.

Just remember: 1 game does not a season make!

I guess Nieuwendyk, Roberts, McCabe, Domi and Tucker aren't that big a part of the team if they're "B" teamers.

I'll file that for future face-rubbings.

I also belive that Kathleen was a big supporter of Ken Klee. He was a heathly minus 4 lastnight! Guess he isn't a A team member either. Funny how these Leaf fans turn on their only after 1 bad game!

scubadoo - It makes no differance to me if Klee was a minus 4

Cardinal Fang - Another game like that, and I will be getting fitted for one.
The Doctor - Alfie, I mean Boss, just came, stirred the pot, and ran. :)

Kathleen
Actually I was wrong and am big enough to admit that fact. Klee was a minus 3. I have amended my original post!

scubadoo Last night was just ugly, and an off night. But it was not the worst think to happen to Toronto..

..remember this one?
The 5-0 deficit the Blues overcame for a 6-5 overtime victory in 2000 against Toronto? St.Louis started the 3rd down 5-0, and ended up winning. That was a night to be mad.

I do remember that game and it did suck at the time!

I was a Leaf fan until I moved to Eastern Ontario from Niagara. The very first NHL hockey game I went to was a Leaf loss 6-3 to the Atlanta Flames in 1973.
