IMHO a stupid decision by corrections canada. What was the son supposed to do? Write a victim impact statement praising his mother's killer?

Its a horrible thing what happened to his mother and him. I think he should be allowed to attend the parole hearing, if the victim is usually allowed to attend. If they feel he is a security risk, then they can keep him physically apart from the prisoner and have a coupla beefy guards at his side, so if he acts inappropriately, he can be removed. I don't understand what the problem is. Are they afraid he will offend the killer's sensibilities if he jumps up and screams, "You fucking murderer...you deserve to die," before he can be removed from the proceedings?

I agree with your post . IMHO the warden made a quick spontaneous and awful decision and now she doesn't want to look bad in the public eye by changing her mind.

If the kid acts out violently the state gets sued, and he's facing criminal charges which would be a political nightmare.

And if he's irrational enough so submit a death threat directly to the police with his name on it I'm supposed to take for granted he didn't mean it because he wrote a second draft without it?

But I think I have a better solution, reject the sick fucks parole application right now. I understand why these systems exist but some questions answer themselves.
