Do you think that attractive people generally have things a little easier in life than, say someone who is not attractive? Please discuss amongst yourselves as it would be interesting. To start off, i do believe that attractive people have it a BIT easier in life. Just been my experience thats all.

There have been several studies done that confirm that generally slim, attractive, taller people tend to be more successful in most facets of life.

Psychological studies show that even very young children (2-4) associate attractive qualities to good looking people and more negative qualities to uglier ones. Better looking kids are more popular and so forth. Yeah it's a huge advantage in life. A lot of doors open and favours are done.\

An example? A girl I know got breast implants twice, going from an A cup to DD. Her life has gotten so much easier it's not funny. I've witnessed it personally.

I'll tell you this. The better shape I got into the better my treatment by both males and females. My personality didn't change, but people give you a lot more of a chance, especially women.

I don't know if i buy that and i'll tell you why. Initally, yes, attractive people do get away with murder (i was one of those ugly duckling turned half decent so it was always clear to me that beautiful people got bigger breaks). Yet as the beauty fades and one realizes they aren't as gorgeous as they once were...well, then the bitterness kicks in and things aren't so easy any more. Also, people that beautiful take their looks for granted and generally do not take care of themselves as well as people who are not so lucky (not so much cosmetically but physically - don't work out, eat right, party more) and therefore age faster (especially girls who are too much into make-uo and tanning). So do beautiful people really have it much better? I think that its easier to be unattractive because you're more realistic. just MHO.

So in the same vain, if two people (attractive and unattractive) told the same lie, you would tend to believe the good looking one right?

i would believe the fat ugly one and try to get it on with the hot one. but thats just me:)

A couple of years ago there was a study done by the show 20/20. They got a cute blonde chick to apply for a number of jobs, but they gave her little or no experience and made sure that she acted a "blonde" as possible during the interviews.

Then they made up another name for the same girl and gave this "persona" plenty of direct experience/skils required for the jobs, but they put her into a "fat" outfit and made her hair black. She did not look "ugly" but she was not the cute blonde 20 something anymore.

These two "personas" went to 5 different interviews and each time you could tell the difference between they way the blonde was treated and the way the other person was treated. In some cases the blonde was offered the job right on the spot, while the other "person" was told that they would call her.

They also had the same person on the side of the road with a flat tire. Guess how many people (male and female) took the time to help the blonde and how many did not help the other person.

It's built into us by years of evolution and conditioning. The media pushes the envelope by using teenagers and making them look like adults.

Most of the time our primial insticts take over and we don't even realize it.
