And when there is no more “Rich” - where then do the masses get their hand outs?
You have it ass backwards. It is the rich who get the handouts from the working people.

Nothing wrong with that if you want to live like there is an
emergency for real.
But there is one. Some don't care because it's not something you can see and will probably die before they see the consequences of their action, but this is the legacy they leave to their children, grand children and after.

Johnny LaRue, I always considered you a ladies man. The harsh reality is we are in an environmental emergency.
The harsh reality is we are in an environmental political emergency.

It is called the Beer Lambert law
1615046356395.png

the relationship between the absorption of electromagnetic radiation and concentration is a logarithmic one
ie diminishing returns with incremental increases in Co2

The Stefan - Boltzmann law also does not support AGW

Climate is a multi-variant , chaotic system, which has been constantly changing for billions of years. To believe a non-reactive, colorless, odorless gas measured in parts per million is the control knob for climate is absurd

There is no climate emergency

I used the wrestling analogy to describe it. Humanity is currently in an arm lock applied by Macho Man Randy Savage (Coronavirus), he reaches back with his other hand to tag in his partner Andre the Giant (ocean acidification). That's the scale of the problem humanity faces.
Fine, you use the entertaining, fantasy world of wrestling to guide your decisions and I will use the physical laws of nature.

now can I expect you to try and label me as a "denier" for calling out your beloved "Pro Wrestling" as fake?

There are lots of issues facing humanity, some of them are quite serious ie pollution in our oceans , rivers and lakes, over fishing in the oceans, lack of access to education for hundreds of millions (particularly girls) and the ability to feed growing populations in under developed countries.

what is particularly alarming is many seem to think a moron bartender from Queens' has a realistic plan to "fight a constantly changing climate"
You are going to be shocked by
  1. The negative impacts the GRD will have on you and your family
  2. The fact Co2 emissions will continue to rise
  3. the invoice
  4. the poverty and misery this will cause
  5. the slippery slope of socialism
Hank Paulson supports The Green New Deal. Reassured that he appears to have recovered his health. Awhile back I thought he was developing Parkinson's.
Nice to hear the health out look for Mr., Paulson has improved. I would not wish that horrible affliction on anyone.

His support does not make AOC any smarter
She is a moron

I guess the ruling socialist party in Venezuela are considered rich as they do not have to eat their pets to survive

If we go too far down the slippery slope of socialism , you will get to see the consequences of that action, first hand
It will not be pretty and the legacy of that action will certainly be felt by your children, grand children and after.

Since you made the statement “everything paid for by the rich sounds good”. May I ask,
What do you classify as “rich”?

Venezuela is an environmental disaster
They can not manage to feed their own population, let alone clean up the mess

It is disturbing to see people want to repeat the same ideological experiment which has failed so many times and produced so much death and misery

This time it will be different !
Thanks , but no thanks

Bernie and AOC are of the same mind
The only question is which of the two has that mind at this current moment

The plan is flawed and badly flawed

How can you compared Venezuela to the United States of America. You argument fall right off. Its like comparing AOC to Castro or Che lol not the same story, not the same struggle, not the same political environment.

Oh, you couldn't be more wrong. The first things to go out of the window when the economy implodes, as it always does under socialism, are the luxuries. Luxuries like chocolate, out of season and region fruits and vegetables, fashionable attire...and environmental protections. Seen it with my own eyes- black snow, poisoned and "colorful" rivers from the industrial dumping, lifeless lakes, rain that permanently stains your coat, etc. Be careful.

I am not professing my love for socialism. You guys only deflected there because when republicans are not comfortable with their issues they start deflecting on what could be worst so we accept living in mediocrity. Basic manipulation. You guy are getting old in terms of strategy. Thats why kids are not interested in politics and thats how AOC are bringing them back.

The point at which the average person goes from paying the bills to getting ahead is about $70,000 in income. Thats per adult in a household.

Personally I think at 5 times that they hit rich. And at 10 million assets they hit wealthy. There is a difference imo.

In the context of my post, anyone who makes lots of money by profiting off other peoples work. In Marx' term, capitalists.

Unearned pay, i.e. investment income and company profits should be taxed higher than salary.

Not deflecting. AOC's wish list of policies extend well into the economic manipulation on grand scale. It does not work, it never worked and it will never work- no matter what name you call it. Why? Because a) no one can control economy anymore than one can control earthquakes and b) the policies embraced by AOC are self cancelling and contradictory. For example- you cannot demand a set minimum wage with open and unlimited migration because that impoverishes the local working class, especially the poor, and leads to outsourcing and cash employment. The same apply to the universal healthcare and the welfare state in general. For those to function, you must control the border, just ask your fellow Canadians about that.

She is a force to be reckoned with, lets just admit it and move on.

It is easy to believe there is an emergency and to care about
our children and grand children. To live in an emergency is another
matter. Bill Gates believes in climate change and wrote a book on
how to avoid a climate disaster. And yet just last month the guy
invested a huge amount of money in a private jet company in
a multi-billion dollar deal. Not a surprising move for someone
to take pleasure in flying a private jet like Gates though. People can
see the climate consequences of their action and still carry on with
that action.

Let me make it clear that I never said there is no emergency
and that what you said is wrong. I just have doubts people,
climate change believers and deniers included, are eager to
adapt their lifestyle to a real emergency.
