I've never heard of such an attitude by Canadians.

I think most people may talk tough, but if they had to actually pull the leaver, it would be a different story.
I totally support the death penalty. I have no sympathy for murderers. Waste of tax money to keep them alive. Hang them all now.

I would never support the death penalty, even for psychos like this guy. A country with a death penalty is a stain on all its people. I would, however, support giving people like him the right to take a suicide pill.

really? average cost to house an inmate is around 100K a year, x 25 years = 2.5 million.
Why not spend that money on people who actually are worth the money?

On the latest episode of Blackish, they did an intro talking about prisons in the US being overcrowded. In one part it showed what looked like a gymnasium with a ton of bunk beds/cots. Could easily have been 100 prisoners in the same room. Why not do something like this. Why not make prisons smaller and have beds that fold up and have to be setup each night? The amount of space is huge, and more space = more cost. I'm sure the statistic of $100k is taking the annual spend divided by the average number of prisoners held during the year. Decrease the spend - although if I remember the Harper government increased the budget for prisons, advocating for expansion.
