harry kopyto. The guy is nuts and disbarred but he's enough of a pain in the ass that the other side will yield. Trust me.

Nothing stops him from acting as your agent/friend/advisor/spokesman/representative though. He just can't present himself as a lawyer or do the few things that by law only a lawyer can.

I would not hire a disbarred lawyer. He was disbarred for a reason, and he cannot start a lawsuit for you or defend you at one. Lawsuits are the stick that lawyers have when they write demand letters and start negotiations. All he could do would be to write a letter saying "Do this, and if you don't, I'll write you another letter."

You also don't have protection of the Law Society, a right to confidentiality, etc....

If it is over a modest amount of money (Small Claims,) maybe a paralegal can help you. Might be enough, and would be cheaper.
