I liked Carnival, Mrs CD did not. They stopped it at the end of the second or third season, it was too expensive to make, so they shut it down.

Just found this gem on you tube for any of you that use to watch this fantastic show. This clip has me thinking to go buy the series if i can find it in the stores.

I've got them and enjoyed them a lot. It's "dust bowl depression" era, mystical, sexual, religious story all wrapped up in a travelling carnival. It starts off slowly but gets better about 1/2 way through the 1st season and builds to the 2nd season finale.

I got lucky one day at a Best Buy in Buffalo a while back.

I was checking out the DVD's and saw the two seasons in the racks for $25 each. When I went to check out, the scanner said $60 each. I showed them the display so they honoured the price. I had to go back later that day and when I did, I saw the price had been changed back to $60.

The first season was great. The second season, not so much.

It got canceled after that and I think it left the series hanging and unresolved. Which was another reason I didn't watch all of season 2.

That's the regular price on Amazon.ca for the first season. You can only buy both seasons together new on Amazon.ca (out of season 2), for around $85.

So Bestbuy is the best buy in this particular case, especially since you could get both seasons from BB for $30 each vs. $85 for both at Amazon.
