Some people do put the watch away to take a shower. Ever heard of people taking shower wearing a Patek Phillipe. Cheers.
seeing that a Patek Phillippe should be waterproof, it makes much more sense to wear it in the shower than to risk losing it in a bawdy house

I would not take risk any watch in the shower, even if it is a strong Oyster shell Rolex. A Patek would be spoiled in a shower, even if the Patek is water roof. Regards,

Rolex Oysters are air, dust and water tight. The Oyster case is rated to 100m, the Submariner is 300M and the Sea-Dweller is 600M. Showers are no problem.

Not all Pateks are waterproof. Some are only water resistant. I'd also worry about leather bands.

Yes, I have left my ring and got it back, the SP was very kind in calling me and said I forgot something.

Actually the first thing that I did was call the number I had for the incall but there was no answer - the number was for a telephone contact that was not physically located at the incall.

Second I was visiting Victoria and would be departing the next day, there wouldn't be time to wait around to locate the ring.

Third, the best way to retrieve something when you know exactly where you left it is to return to where it is as soon as possible. The more time that passes the less likely it will be that the item will be still be there. On that same trip I left a brand-new Seiko digital watch on at a wash basin on the BC Ferries. I returned less than five minutes later but the watch was gone and no one turned it in. Reward offered, announcement made by the purser - no luck.
You really should be more careful with your stuff!
