Have a lady give you her phone number, then mystically vanish off the face of the earth? Maybe it’s the Lady you encounter at a club wearing a dangerously tight outfit with a low-cut top. Exposing her bountiful sweater kittens that men (and some ladies) admire and desire so much. How about the Lady you met at the supermarket picking out bananas, then abruptly looking up at you, smiles,,, and naively moistens her lips with her tongue then leaving then slightly parted. That kind of naughty yet innocent behavior designed to get a man’s attention. Charismatically luring you to say the first word, cautious to make the next move, you get comfortable, you talk a bit, then she offers her phone number. Trying not to look anxious, you wait a couple days, then make that call. Only to get an answering machine with her melodious voice assuring you that she will return your call. Subsequently she never does. Do you call again? Or just let fate be the decider…

There is (or was) an Ottawa radio station (FM89.9?) that advertised a phone number for listeners to use when being "hit" on. Callers would then leave messages thinking it was their new potential friend. They played these messages on the radio ... LMAO ...MrBill said:

Absolutely !!! It has happened often and not often enough. Yes, with the right attitude, a lady will hand you her card/number. Occassionally, I have ladies slide the info into my shirt or jacket pocket ... Oh come on, this happens all the time. Worse case, she was yanking your chain and gave you a phony number. Slightly better case, she was liking you at the time, but thought better of it once the beer goggles wore off.

And not an ordinary lady by any means. In our brief meeting I couldn’t help but recognize that she was obviously intelligent and a tad bit witty. Her complexion was fair with delicately rosy cheeks… magnificent long flowing auburn hair… dark sparkling eyes accented with long lashes and sable eyebrows.

To make a long story short, we have a Dinner date Saturday night followed by seeing the Orchestra perform Schumann's Scenes from Goethe's Faust.
