Not sure about the rest of you that read this board regularly...but for me re-connecting here after a several year hiatus has been enjoyable in many ways. This hobby is a very secret part of my life and to share and discourse with other like minded people is something that makes me feel connected. You do get to know people by reading their posts and replies, and I am starting to think of many of the frequent posters here as some form of online friends. Don’t worry, I won’t get all sappy on you...well, not any more at least.

My question is, and apologies if this has been discussed before (it likely has), but has anyone ever tried to organize a terb member meet and greet? I was thinking of something low key like grabbing a couple of tables in a corner at Barbs or something and getting to know each other. Does that sound too...gay? I guess I would like to meet some of you guys...if I am alone in thinking that, c’est cool...just wanted to toss it out there.

Would this be a purely platonic thing or are you looking for more? I'm not really looking to get into a serious relationship with anyone from terb.

But seriously, I think this has been arranged on terb before - for sure in Toronto, but I'm not sure about Ottawa - so there may be some interest by others.

I have been off and on on this site for a few years, and at least one was organized, and I believe relatively well attended here in Ottawa. I only read about it, because it did not fit my schedule. I believe scheduling is one of the biggest challenges since we all have different "free" time for this hobby. No harm in trying to set something up.

It has been done a few times over the years but the turnout was low. Most Terbites have a SO & wish to remain anonymous. I might attend one if was organized. I don't think it can be called a terb party as the board has nothing to do with it & does not want it's name associated with parties.

I totally get that many (probably most) of us want complete and total anonymity...I also get that scheduling will be a challenge...if there is interest I may set something up, likely not until the fall.

It might work. if everyone remained anonymous.. no names were exchanged.. Not sure about you guys. but it comes to mind as creating a whole fucking lot of loose strings that don't exist at the moment. I've got a SO so perhaps that's the underlying reason for this mindset.

Some people have organized meet and greet sort of events on the other board. I understand that some may not be the greatest fans of the other board, but to be honest the members and providers who've attended the socials have been pretty down-to-earth and discreet for the most part.

It just occurred to me that you might talking about a guys-only meet up, that doesn't sound too bad either, if you do organize something I'd be up for coming out if it works with my schedule.

I've resisted these types of meetings for many of the same reasons t2s mentioned. That, plus every now and then some idiot has to go trying to pry info about me from SPs I see often. Last thing I need is some psycho stalker.

I'll just stay anon. I do pretty good as a solo act LOL

+1 with Slurp and T2S. I enjoy hobbying and the exchanges on the board, I really don't need to take any more risk of the hobby creeping into my personal / professional life.

If some guys want to setup a social club or meeting great! Count me out...

The other board organized a party where there were about 20 members and 20 SPs, from what I heard this was populare and well received . . . probably interesting to meet the girls who were advertising on the board! I don't know if there is any potential to do something seperate with TERB.

Interesting note on the parties on the other board. The guys pay a fee to go, the Ladies do not.
