Hello!

Just wondering if anyone has done this before? Looking to send a car from Toronto to Vancouver. Filled in a quote request from a company I googled, but no reply yet. Interested in knowing approximate price, and if it went ok.
Thanks

I have driven several times cars between cities for an agency. Drive away cars in TO, I believe.

Back then they told me it could take several months to ship because they need to fill the train box car or shipping container.
A trailer - like that one you see delivering auto to dealerships can also take several months. Like 3 months actually.

3 months seems to be the standard wait to transport. I know a family that moved to Australia and they had to wait three months. And also the return. Don't believe it could be done in a month or less.

The way it worked for me .. after I learned from a travelling guy who used the agency many times,,,, is the agency hoped a guy like me would call them and ask them what's the next car that needs to go or come back.

I am nice guy so I took care of the car.

PM and we can arrange something together by the agency so we feel safe.

I have but not for a while. I work in that industry though. What the previous poster said is more or less true. You'll wait a while until they can fill a car and make it economical. If you don't mind the added mileage and are in more of a hurry use a driveway service.

Does it have to be by rail or are you open to other options?

Thanks for the information. I've heard back from one company and they pretty much explained it just like above. Seems to be about 2K to send by rail. Not too bad, in my opinion.
Thanks again!

The Drive from T.O. to Vancouver is actually very beautiful. If you have a 2 or 3 drivers you can probably knock it out in 3 days.

There are a bunch of companies that will drive your vehicle for you. Would be easier as far as timeline goes, most will pickup at your location and drop where you want.

They should quote a price PLUS fuel (so you pay the gas bills on the way but everything else is included)

Some drive them in vans others drive your vehicle they should be insured, and have limits on driver time (just like truckers)

Wow 1970's or 80's, nice.

To bad you didn't take enough pictures to compare to today settings or scenery.
