My friends family has gone into the eartery biz. While eateries in Toronto are considered among the worst investments he was unaware o what a disaster it was . I am not sure if I should consider to push him to be educated so he can get out before its too late, or encourage him in his efforts on the long shot he wont lose everything.

This is theory, I know its best just to let nature take its course, since I be blamed either way if I get involved. I gave a brief warning so I did my duty. But what would you do if you hcd tho chose one or the other option?

Even if they wanted to back out now, soonest would be 3, maybe 6 months? The most expensive portion will be the location and how lenient the landlord is, allowing them to break the lease after just signing it.

Anyways, just send him newspaper articles of all the restaurants closing down within the past 8 months. "I think you should read these" no actual warning necessary, let him make the judgement call on what to do.
