This Labour Day Weekend, many beautiful topless and nude ladies on the beach, beautiful caucasian, black, Indians, Asians, even met some Korean and Japanese ESL students with full bushes, shy and in bikinis at first and then fully nude after some beers 30 minutes later. Lots of boats were anchored off shore.. The beach has matured and now rivals Vancouver's Wreck beach IMHO. However the far end of the beach was populated primarily by gays.

I'd love to go some time.. but I'd want to bring girl(s) with me. Because being on a nude beach with just a bunch of naked guys would be an epic fail.

Me and my ex use to swim nude at Hanlans a few summers back. I thought it was okay but I just didn't like the whole atmosphere from the people there. It seemed gay on the left side and on the right it's the people who just want to see and not be seen! Other then that Hanlan's beach is a great place to go for walks, BBQ, tennis, biking, rollerblade.
I don't mind a place that's clothing optional but I would rather be at a nudist resort (if you're into that sort of thing)

Yes you can wear whatever you want it's just optional and there are people of all ages.
It's a great beach. If you go I recommend you take a water taxi there if the line ups for ferry are huge. Taxi $10 while the ferry is $6.50. (You can take ferry back to mainland).
Bring food and drinks as there is not much offered on the beach maybe just a snack bar that closes early and some pop machines near the ferry dock.
Don't freak out if you get looked at by the gays. Most are harmless and are looking for action from the willing and interested.
Better looking crowd and busier on weekends in the summer. During the week it can be a lot of nudist regulars that remind you there is actions done while naked that are pleasing to the eye and some actions that you wish to bleach from your mind. Frisbee playing by hotties can be hot. 2 overweight guys playing frisbee, not so much.
Stay for the sunset as it one of the best views from the city. I am often surprised that most people pack up and leave at 4pm or 5pm. Stay still 7pm or even 9pm when the crowds thin and each sunset I have seen is unique and breathtaking from Hanlons. A romantic moment if on a date.
Bring a beach blanket and towels. And prepare for the chill to set in when sun goes down.
Ferry ride schedule is online. Make sure you get on the right ferry or it is a long walk if you get off at Ward's Island.
Many people bring wine, beer or alcohol to beach. Don't be an ass who litters.
You can go to the beach on your own. People are friendly enough. Bring a frisbee, water volleyball or reclining pool chairs that sit on water if you want to mingle.
And if you really want to make new friends bring a pack of smokes, lighter, weed, zig zags or extra beer. As the day goes on more people run out of these items and wander around asking to buy some from you. A good chance to chat up someone.
One more thing sometimes it is a rainy day at Yonge and Eglinton but the weather on the beach is clear, sunny. So look to the skies to see if it looks clearer south of us. And remember the beach is a couple of degrees colder than the downtown core.
You can swim in the water. It is safe. The beach is sandy and you can swim safely as the water has spots where it is not deep and perfect for frisbee playing.
There is a restaurant that is overprised with mediorce food at Ward's Island that is a nice way to end the day. But best to make resevation as they close early. And it is opposite side of Toronto Islands from Hanlons.
I do think most people should at least go take a peek. Beautiful beach that makes you forget you are in the city. No one cares if you stay dressed or bats an eye if you get undressed. Most unjudgmental people.

There are hot girls on the beach during the weekend. Especially during the long weekends. With this weather you would be amazed how many locals get to know the place and become regulars.
But it is a trek to get to the beach. And quite frankly those with a negative attitude or those who just want a glimpse of naked tits should stay home.
Most people are drinking beer or liquor on the beach. Just clean up after yourself and don't make a scene. I have never seen any one get a ticket for drinking. Really laid back approach.
And there are friendly dogs in the area now and then. I think they are fine on the ferry and should be leashed. Again I have never seen any officials on the beach. It is a self regulating community in my opinion.

There are many Europeans in the city who go topless and have less modesty than North Americans. And nowadays young girls like a tan without tanlines. So there are topless girls and there are some that get naked.
The beach is not for everyone.

You swim. You sit in sand. You may wish to rinse off before putting your street clothes back on. So perhaps a changeroom is needed for select few. Especially those who will trek back to the burbs.
The washrooms are located about 200 metres away from the beach in the facility operated by the city. It is by the snack bar. It is maintained with the usual city standard.
In my opinion those washrooms would be perv free as those guys who cruise would be in the bushes on the east side of the beach getting full oil, lube and grease jobs in the great outdoors. They guys who cruise the public johns aren't going to trek to the Island for a washroom as their dicks lead them to the gay headquarters in the bushes.

The blog was posted on June 20, 2009. I think the beach gains popularity as time goes on. And I think the beach is busier during the nicer weather we had this summer and as the summer goes on. As mentioned earlier the long weekends have the bigger crowds and the best people watching.

I'm happy to respond to sincere inquiries for information. I was reluctant to go intially as I did not know what to expect. But I survived and lived to tell the tale.
And truth be told not all naked chicks are hot. There is a naked girl who looks like Beth (married to Dog the Bounty Hunter). Wish I could bleach that image from my mind.

Just want to uselessly chime in to say that everything Klute is saying is correct. There are SOME young hottees in the buff and it is very welcoming and friendly place. Alcohol is not so much permitted as turned a blind eye to.
Grossest thing I have seen there is some old pervert with an erection hiding in the taller grass about 15 feet away from a group of girls.
That was the rare exception. Been there dozens of times and really love the place.

It is a public beach with members of the public enjoying the sun, beach and water.
You want to walk around with a stiffie go to Oasis Spa Lounge or a sex club. This is a clothing optional beach. Not a free for all.
Though the hard on would be welcomed in the bushes down the end of the beach.
You come across as one of the creepers that should stay home and watch porn.
