This is for fans of The Princess Bride, keeping in mind that Al Montoya's given name is actually Alvaro:

Montoya to the Columbus Bluejackets next time he sees them, " My name is Alvaro Montoya. You murdered my goals against average. Now you must die."

What is so surprising? They showed last year they are a non playoff team without Price. They have no team. The team is Price. Imagine Price on the Leafs. Instant contender.

The Habs had not lost any of the 4 games started by Montaya in regulation before tonight (3-0-1).

Classic trap letdown game that teams have, hard to get up for Columbus and they weRe on a roll. Habs fans might be nervous though as they were badly outplayed their last game too. This is when they swooned last year too.

I haven't followed too close but prices numbers are outstanding, could be smoke and mirrors again. Coach is on a short leash, see if Roy is next in line.

A game like this really distorts averages. This game is an "outlinier" and should be ignored when calculating averages.

The Habs werern't the only ones getting shellacked.

Ryan Kesler should pick on someone his own size.

The Habs team did not help out Al Montoya at all, the Habs defense was a joke last night, taking stupid penalties. I am glad the Habs got beaten up last night lol. I don't see any Canadian NHL teams to win the Stanley cup anytime soon or probably never will. Especially the Leafs will never win again.

OH, OK why not try going with Montaya over a longer period ... hell trade Price. According to you Montreal should be just fine, start planning the parade route.

Stop making up bullshit that I never said and attributing it to me. Thanks.

I never claimed the Habs were a sure fire contender. I am not sure right now whether they are a contender or not. Based on last year, it will take a long time for me to believe that they are. But I am not stupid enough to discard them after one game either.

lol ... This is TERB and you implied that Montreal could be ok with Montaya ... Ok I kind of went a little overboard. :D

Without Price they will probably struggle to make the playoffs.
The team has absolutely no system , they are usually out chanced every game , their possession #'s are horrible
The last four games they played like garbage and the 10 -0 caught up to them

Without Price, I think everything else has to go right just to be a borderline playoff team. I don't think they are in the bottom 5 of the league without Price (as was implied by a poster in the first few posts), but they are in the middle of those other teams that miss the playoffs.

Last I heard, the goalie is part of a hockey team, and winning the SC with a great goalie is just as legit as any other way. Price is the best goalie in the league and they wanted to rest him before a back2back.
For all the doom and gloom after the 10-0 loss, they still have the best record.

It is early in the season, we will revisit the best record later(maybe still MC).
Yes a goalie is apart of the team, but trade Price, filling several other sore spots in the process and allow another goalie to be apart of the team, see what happens.
Winning the Cup ? At least wait until 25/30 games before going down that road.

4-0 since the 10-0 loss, with 17 goals.

In those games Carey Price has 11 goals and 4 assists.

I am still not sure if they are a real contender yet. It's an 82 game season and they did something similar last year. They will have to do more to earn top contender status.

That being said writing them off after 1 bad game was just silly -- as was saying their entire success this year to date was based on Carey Price.

Tonight in chicago, this will be a big test. I might consider them a contender if they pull this out.

At this point in time, Carey Price has a good claim to be the best professional athlete in North America.

Habs on pace for mid or end of season collapse. Last year they went on a 8 game losing streak and winning only 7 of their last 20 games. We'll see if Weber can buck that trend.
