Muslim Extremists in the last 2 years have hacked to death (with machetes) about 20 Journalists, Bloggers, Atheists, Gays, Buddhist Monks etc Now this.

Gunmen have attacked a restaurant in the diplomatic quarter of the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka on Friday, according to police and witness reports. At least one policeman has reportedly died, and dozens of people are being held hostage.
There are “reports of shooting and hostage situation,” the US embassy in Bangladesh has tweeted.

Bangladeshi police exchanged fire with armed men at a Dhaka restaurant popular with foreigners, Reuters reported.

At least 20 people, most of them foreigners, have been taken hostage, according to local media citing witnesses. Several policemen have been injured. One of them later died of his wounds, a top official at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed.

The attack was carried out by a group of at least nine people, according to local media. They entered the restaurant at around 9:20pm local time and reportedly opened fire and set off explosions.

One of the attackers was armed with a sword, the others carried guns, an employee of a nearby café told RT. He estimated the number of hostages as at least 30.

A kitchen worker who managed to escape the building said the attackers chanted “Allahu Akbar.”

“They blasted several crude bombs, causing wide-scale panic among everyone. I managed to flee during this confusion,” he said, according to The Daily Star, a Bangladeshi English-language newspaper. The paper puts the number of injuries at 30.

Police have cordoned off the site and are now planning a rescue operation, a police chief told Reuters.

The targeted area of Gulshan is a neighborhood in the capital city of Dhaka that hosts many nongovernmental organizations and embassies, including that of the US.

Now a Hindu priest got hacked to death while gathering flowers.

(CNN)A Hindu priest was hacked to death at his temple in Bangladesh's southwestern district of Jhenaidah early Friday, police said.

It is the latest incident in a wave of suspected religious-based murders, despite a nationwide crackdown by the Bangladeshi government, including the arrest of more than 14,000 people.
The victim was Shyamananda Das, a 52-year-old priest.

He was gathering flowers, likely to be offered in prayers at the Sri Sri Radha Madan Gopal Bigrohomot temple, when the attack took place, Gopinath Kanjilal, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Jhenaidah district, Sador circle told CNN.
"Three men rode up on one bicycle. They were wearing helmets. They jumped off, attacked the priest, and then rushed away," Kanjilal said, citing one witness account.
Is Bangladesh the next ISIS hotspot?

The alleged killers used what is locally known as "chapatti"— a long, heavy knife that is often described as a machete.
Kanjilal added that the attack is similar to others in a long, ongoing spate of murders across Bangladesh that's taken the lives of secular bloggers, academics, as well as religious minorities.
Key suspect in blogger Avijit Roy's murder 'killed in gunfight'

The government launched an anti-militant drive across the Muslim-majority nation last month to stamp out the murders, but many of those detained are believed to be ordinary criminals and not Islamic extremists.

Gtx, people will only care when it happens in their country, but unfortunately, it will be too late then.

Plenty of examples in Europe.

Actually Hindu's have been killing Muslims at the same rate if not more. The British played their part in the divide by pitting the two faiths against each other. During the British Raj a number of Hindu temples were torn down, the prudish Brits considered them decadent. The current Indian PM Narendra Modi was Governor of Gujarat during a very ugly Muslim pogrom in 2002. India played a decisive role in the creation of Bangladesh, the country and Pakistan (formerly West Pakistan) have been bitter enemies ever since.

The British raped and pillaged The Indian Sub-Continet to their hearts content, becoming extremely wealthy in the process. After the American Civil War, the Brits converted prime farm land toward cotton production, millions of Indians/Pakistanis starved to death. That's one of the reasons why the spinning wheel is the emblem of India's flag.

Dhaka cafe attack ends with 20 hostages dead, 13 rescued. The hostages were killed with sharp weapons and include seven Italians.

Dhaka, Bangladesh (CNN)Gunmen seized a bakery in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka overnight, killing 20 hostages and two police officers in an hourslong standoff that ended Saturday morning, the military said.

Thirteen others were rescued from the Holey Artisan Bakery, officials said, with police raiding the eatery about 10 hours after the standoff began.
Gunmen stormed the bakery -- an establishment popular with expats, situated in an upscale neighborhood that hosts nations' embassies -- Friday evening.
Six terrorists were killed and one was captured alive when commandos raided the restaurant Saturday morning, Prime Minister Hasina said.

"We were able to save 13 people, we weren't able to save a few," Hasina said at a news conference.
One Japanese national and two Sri Lankans were among the hostages rescued, officials from both nations said.

The rescued Japanese national was having dinner with seven other colleagues from Japan, who are missing, said Koichii Hagiuda, the deputy chief Cabinet secretary.
Japan has sent Vice Foreign Minister Seiji Kihara, along with a team of terrorism experts, to Dhaka.
Not all of the names of the dead were immediately released. One was Indian citizen Tarushi Jain, 19, who was studying at the University of California at Berkeley, according to India's minister of external affairs, Sushma Swaraj.

"I am extremely pained to share that the terrorists have killed Tarushi, an Indian girl who was taken hostage in the terror attack in Dhaka," Swaraj said on Twitter.
Workers jump from roof
Witnesses described chaotic scenes when the gunmen raided the Holey Artisan Bakery.
Cafe worker Shumon Reza said he saw six to eight gunmen enter the bakery. He escaped as they came in.
"They were shooting in the air. They didn't shoot or hit anybody. Just to create fear," Reza told Boishakhi TV.

"The guests were all lying on the ground under the chairs and tables. And we (the employees) escaped in whichever safe way we could. Some went to the roof, others went to other safe spots."
Shortly after, Reza said, the attackers started throwing explosives, one after another.
"We thought it wasn't safe anymore and jumped from the roof," he said.

In his office nearby, Ataur Rahman said he heard a series of gunshots as people raced for cover. Some yelled that the gunmen were shouting, "Allahu Akbar!"
Diego Rossini, one of the cafe workers, escaped up the stairs from the kitchen to the terrace, and hid there with 10 other people. Once the attackers started getting closer, Rossini jumped toward adjacent buildings along with the other people.
Rossini told CNN en Español that he was hiding between the restaurant and the building next door when police rescued him.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the terror attack, according to its media branch, Amaq. But some U.S. officials doubted the claim.

The Religion of Peace recently distinguished itself by hacking
a Buddhist leader to death, shooting a Christian priest in the
head, murdering a Hindu temple worker, and slaughtering
a 13-year-old Jewish girl... all in less than 24 hours!
Still think all religions are the same?

Another week, another terrorist attack/mass killing by a Muslim/Islamic person or group. Yawn.... seems like the same old to me.

Although it's a matter of time before something dumb like that happens in Canada, I'd just like to thank 4 things:

1. Arctic ocean to the north
2. Pacific ocean to the west
3. Atlantic ocean to the east
4. USA to the south

It's not a perfect border, but at least it keeps lots of issues away from the country. The more distance away from that Middle East hotbed area, the better.

Imagine how much it would suck if Canada was right there in the middle of the action surrounded by tons of countries with rebels, terrorists, and hit and miss governments. Then you have allied aircraft flying over the land, and sometimes enemy aircraft doing the same. And nothing speaks peace and tranquility then looking offshore and seeing an American Cruiser patrolling the waters.

Talk about a clusterfuck of military gear and fighting all over.

No thanks.

20 hostages hacked to death with 'sharp weapons' by ISIS militants, confirms Bangladesh Army

Most of them had been killed by 'sharp weapons', Army spokesman Colonel Rashidul Hasan said. initially it seemed all the victims were foreigners but now the army believes some locals were also among the dead as well.

Islamist militants killed 20 people, including at least nine Italians and seven Japanese, inside an upmarket restaurant in Bangladesh's capital, before security forces stormed the building and ended a 12-hour standoff on Saturday.Islamic State said it was responsible for one of the most brazen attacks in the South Asian nation's history, but that claim has yet to be confirmed. It marks a major escalation in a campaign by militants over the past 18 months that had targeted mostly individuals advocating a secular or liberal lifestyle in majority-Muslim Bangladesh with 160 million people. The gunmen, who stormed the busy restaurant in Dhaka's diplomatic area late on Friday night, ordered all Bangladeshis to stand up before they began killing foreigners, a source briefed on the police investigation said.Among the dead was the wife of an Italian businessman killed by a machete. She was found by her husband after he spent all night hiding behind a tree outside the cafe while the gunmen were inside, said Agnese Barolo, a friend who lives in Dhaka and spoke to him.

Nine Italians were killed in the attack, the country's foreign minister said, and authorities were trying to confirm the fate of another person missing.Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said seven of its citizens had been confirmed dead in the attack, while one Indian, a 19 year-old female student, was killed in the assault, India's foreign minister said on Twitter.Emory University in Atlanta said in a statement that two of its students were among hostages who were killed. Abinta Kabir, from Miami, was an undergraduate at Emory's Oxford College, and Faraaz Hossain, who was from Dhaka, was a graduate student at the university's Goizueta Business School, Emory said. Bangladesh authorities are yet to say where all the people killed by the militants came from.

The killing of foreigners will likely shatter the confidence of the expatriate community in Bangladesh, many of whom work for multinationals in the country's $26 billion garment industry that accounts for around 15 percent of the economy. Bangladesh is the world's second largest apparel exporter after China. Thirteen hostages were rescued, including one Japanese and two Sri Lankans, the army said.
