Very lucky that as a member of the House Leadership Steve Scalise, has a protective detail other wise this would have been a lot worse.

House Majority Whip Stephen Scalise, a congressional aide and both of the Capital Police officers were shot. The attacker was also shot but I haven't heard anything about his condition.

Representative Scalise is presently in surgery.

No way! No one uses anything else like Knives or Trucks, or Hammers......
The gate around the baseball diamond might have been a problem.

First reports is that this was an automatic weapon. Of course, no sane country wants to ban those....

Imagine the death toll in London a couple of weeks ago if the murderers had automatic firearms.

Maybe you can answer the question: Is it not the intent of the second amendment to allow citizens to take up arms against their government if the feel it does not do a good job for them?

If he used automatic fire that likely saved many lives. It's inaccurate, he would have almost immediately run out of ammunition, and while he was reloading people would have run for cover. Much more dangerous if he had been aiming single shots.

Correct, that is why the military uses automatic weapons.

Correct. The military uses it in squad tactics. One member of a fireteam uses automatic fire to suppress the enemy while other members of the squad move into position. It's an effective tactic but it takes multiple people in a fireteam to do that.

In the hands of a lone wolf it's just going to give people more time to get away. Nobody is moving into position and the shooter runs out of ammo faster.

Trump should build that Wall and allow every American a chance to pick off there Politicians. That would drain the swamp big time ! Or get rid of lobbying and 99.9% of the criminal class in Washington would have to go home and find a real job.

None of our esteemed lawyers seem willing to answer the question: Is it not the intent of the second amendment to allow citizens to take up arms against their government if the feel it does not do a good job for them?

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Or explain what the intent of the second amendment is.

Survival odds get better if all the crazies have easy access to are meat tenderizers and potato guns. Or need serious background checks to buy weapons and ammo.

Correct. The individual soldier is taught to fire single rounds or 3 round bursts. 3 round bursts are generally only used when the soldier is on the move, comes upon an unexpected target and needs a guaranteed incapacitation (military speak) so he can keep moving. Otherwise the weapon is selected single shot when the soldier is static positioned.
