When i get the info on Monday and depending on what is said i surely will. I also do not want to get my real name associated to my terb name. I think a lot will depend on wether I will be lobbying for or against this

regards

my apologies for the bad info guys.
just checked into this and it is all about ontario power generation corp. wanting a gun range to train their security people. The proposal is for the range to be in port hope and will not be open to the public.
i am very disappointed. We need a range!

What does it take to set one up? Anyone know what hoops have to be jumped through? Seems like a reasonable business opportunity if someone can find a suitable space.

I'd like to see something that allows at least small bore (.223 Remington / 5.56 NATO) rifles. I am far less interested in handguns than I am in precision shooting.

I would imagine there would be red tape out the wazoo in trying to get a new club up and running. Just the word "gun" makes a lot of people nervous, especially in TO. The club in Barrie does a really good job trying to get people to see the "sporting" side to it with sponsored family days, tournaments etc.

Like you, I have a small caliber rifle which since selling my land up north, is sitting silent :(

A little digging reveals that gun ranges have to be non-profits, which is likely why there are so few.
