It might also now be illegal in Canada to buy gasoline without having it go directly into a vehicle. When I was a kid, I often bought a couple of dollars worth of gas for the lawn mower, using a small plastic container. The rules are different in Texas and/ or cartoons, where Bevis and Butt-head bought gas using only a plastic bag as the container,

So what filling a jerry can is illegal now? If that's the case I routinely break the law

i am still really upset and sour that there is no ethanol free gas. Government wants to move people to EV by punishing them, not by providing better value. Good luck with that, Canada - i have seen enough of how this strategy worked in my home country: it didn't work well.

Is that because they accomplished their mission of of having the carbon tax fix the climate and that's all good now and the "crisis" is over?
Nah, it was just one of these: "Do first, think after". It wasn't popular even amongst liberals. Same with guns control law.

Honestly, capitalism is doing more to move people into electric cars than governments ever will:

As time goes on, cars are becoming more complex and less reliable. Your front radar sensor (which is not gov't mandated) goes out, you're car could be out of service for months waiting for parts, installation, calibration, etc. My '23 wrangler is out of service waiting for electronic components.

At some point, the cheaper operating costs of an EV offset the lease payment, plus you're under "free rental car if something breaks" warranty for the length of the lease. The economics of constant leasing become better than the economics of buying and keeping for 10 years.

So Liberals were making us pay more for gas for no reason? And now there is an election they decide to have it lowered?

I guess Ax the Tax still has meaning.

Ok...so that means we shouldn't trust them with making decisions for the country.
