Growing Old Will Be a Pain In The Ass

Had my first full physical ( other than blood tests etc for annual insurance purposes ) in about 10 years . Due to my advancing years the medical minds want me to have a colonoscopy . Hard to refuse given the risks everyone runs with colon cancer but.....

I'm really not looking forward to someone shoving this instrument of torture up my butt all the way to my stomach . Do I need to bring a stick to bite on ? Do I have to call the Doctor darling ? Has anyone had one ?

A good friend of mine from College had it done Train. He was as worried about it as you are. Apparently they give you enough drugs that you won't feel a thing. Although....you are awake for the entire operation. How weird is that?

Looking back on it he said the operation was nothing compared to the preparation required the night before. Let’s just say you end up sitting on the toilet drinking some concoction for the better part of an entire night.

I had it done... They knocked me out. If you get knocked out, you don't feel a thing.

The hard part was the prep work, the drugs they cleaned me out with kept me in the bathroom for days.

Yes I am old.

4 inches into a cavity that is specifically designed to have things go into doesn't quite compare with 4 feet in another hole.

But then I'm not saying I'd like to have a baby !

I have one every five years because of cancer history in my family. The hard part is the not eating prior to the proceedure, it has been from one to three days with out eating thats tough. the proceedure itself if done while you are under is no problem and you won't feel a thing. Like someone said earlier look at the alternative if you don't have it done, it ain't pretty.

I hope and pray for you too, but I think they would have come up something by now. I mean if you were a doctor, would you want to do this to someone? You gotta respect a doctor who makes assholes his living. Hopefully the pay is better than other disciplines.
