You misunderstand the article. Your e-mail has nothing to do with it. They essentially want you to (unwittingly) help them bypass Hotmail security in order to set them up an account. They want your e-mail not to spam you but to use it to spam others!
I'm guessing the "mailinator" would foil this process?
