While I agree to a point, using ESL as an excuse for ignoring proper grammar is a poor excuse at best. Quite often when you can't write proper English, you can't speak proper English, and that will hold you back (however slightly) in society.
Maybe...No proper English but Proper and excellent Spanish, French, Portugues and Italian.
Can you speak 04 languagues Keebler Elf???

Your english is easily understandable, so that makes 5 languages. If you add greek and russian it is 7  . Now that is impressive.

I don't have to. I live in Canada, where the native tongue is English (and French).

If I lived in another country I would make every effort to learn the native tongue, if for no other reason than as a sign of respect.

Perhaps you should do the same... ;)

We should cut some slack for anyone who immigrates to this country and is trying hard to learn English. It's one of the most difficult languages to pick up.
I can't say the same for those born here, it's pathetic that some can't express themselves when writing.

I agree with Svend, English is hard to learn...anyone trying should be cut some slack.

Now what really amazes me is listening to teenagers on the street. Their language seems to consist of about 100 words (being generous) and most of them obscenities. Their ability to communicate appears to be severly limited. I am not sure how they could describe anything...person, place or thing and convey any feelings or perhaps thought about it with such a limited vocabulary.
Now I grant you the word fuck can be used to convey a number of different things...but still...there are other verbs, adjectives and adverbs that can convey so much more.

Yes..Keebler Elf you are right. Thank you :)
Respect, is very important. Special when you call somebody ignorant.

What I do not get it. If you are that good in English why are asking how to use :ig,eg and commas.????

Zing!! :D

Janda, do not worry, your English is fine. It is almost impossible for someone to speak and write flawless English as a second language. I think all that matters is that you can speak and write fluently enough to express yourself in most situations.

Janda, I think it is amazing for someone to learn 3 or 4 languages. It is the sign of a highly intelligent and educated person. Unfortunately, some people think the whole world should revolve around them and the single language they speak. Pobrecito egotistas. No saben nada. Siempre piensen que son el centro del universo. Pero solamente es el centro de su propia carcel de ignorismo. Que lastima que hay gente como este tipo.

First, I never called you ignorant.

Second, I'm practicing what I preach in always trying to improve my own grammar.

Third, chill out and stop throwing a hissy fit. The only person attacking you is YOU.

Funny, I thought "i.e." meant "in example".

So much to learn here at TERB.
