La la land
I'm surprised condos/apartments haven't banned these from buildings.
It depends at my place only one person has one and was told to park it in the basement in winter and outside in the summer. When charging inside her unit once it is full to capacity it must be removed outside or basement with no delays.

Wow, I'm suddenly glad my plans for NYE fell through.

Though hopefully the issue would have been cleared after I went started to head home after 12. Either that or I would have been walking to Union.

Not as good as the old fashioned kind with pedals instead of a battery..
These nuisance devices should be banned from indoor public spaces; especially public transit. I know Greta won’t like the sound of that!

Shit, do these batteries just spontaneously blow up like this? I love my e bike but this shit freaks me out.
Yes they do. It's called a thermal runaway. The fires produce highly toxic gasses. More often than not, they catch on fire while charging, but not always. The more cheap Chinese batteries made and imported to Canada, the more fires you'll start to see.

When flying, there's a reason spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be carried in carry-on baggage only.

Shit. I spent a lot of money on my e bike. I wonder what my risk is. I was told to bring the battery inside in the winter but now I’m thinking of placing outside somewhere. Fuck
Where was the battery made?

You should also never leave the charger plugged in once the battery is fully charged. Never!

Just make sure your home insurance policy covers accidental fires caused by eBikes. Also make sure your smoke detectors are working. Then you can bring it inside. :p

If one orders the cheapest replacement battery they can find on line, then you run into trouble. It's more money, but if you order the battery the manufacturer of your device specifies then the risk is reduced. This also applies to chargers. Also do not leave a fully charged battery plugged in indefinitely.
