All I can say about my feelings of Gordon Lightfoot, I think I have almost everything he recorded in my library. My favourite song that he wrote was Beautiful. Best recording of his imo was Me And Bobby Mcgee, written by Kris Kristofferson. R.I.P. GORDON.

This makes me sad. I grew up hearing his music on the radio. He was unique and he was a proud Canadian.

Lightfoot was truly one of the musicians in this world who truly mattered. We will never see the like of him again.

Never a fan, but he was a CanCon institution. RIP.

Here
He led a wonderfully huge life and I hope people celebrate it. I have many fond memories when I listen to his music.

One of my earliest memories of music was hearing this classic tune on the radio

Up until April of this year Lightfoot was still performing concerts. Is there any other musician, dead or alive, that has done more live shows than him? This guy has been performing live since the late 50's. Unbelievable. What a legend. RIP.

This was about a pool boy banging his wife, great tune and storyteller.

Back in February 2010 there was a false radio report of his passing. Sadly this time it is true. He had many great songs, but one of his earliest was "Softly". One of my favorites. Saw him in person at Massey Hall many times. Great memories, RIP

Probably lots. Bob Dylan, for sure.

The Stones. Roger Waters. Neil Young. Springsteen. Billy Joel. Willie Nelson.

There were a bunch of reports he died over the past 15 or so years. This one, sadly, was legit...

Oblivion
He was a unique troubadour who carved a uniquely Canadian niche into the world’s musical consciousness.
Gordon Lightfoot leaves a beautiful legacy of song after song of gems upon gems.
I wish him a big RIP.
