No we'll be witnessing Americans putting their country first. And as a Canadian you should want to see that. Because a strong America means a strong Canada.
Are you seriously suggesting that trump puts the country first ahead of his personal interests? Seriously.

I'm just amazed at how the Democrats have resurrected Trump.

All their witch hunts have made him stronger.

They should have replaced Biden with Newsome some time ago and just promoted the crap out of him.

Instead they keep the corpse of Joe Biden in there and make Trump look like a victim. Brilliant strategy.

What's your theory of the case?
Why is that important?

it’s a pretty straightforward question, that everyone should be able to give some thought to and come up with reasons on their own.

What’s not very subjective is the fact that despite his first term, despite Jan 6, and despite his personal character failings. He remains popular and could potentially win a second term and obviously more Americans than just the few far right dumb red necks support him.

There are reasons for that. Would seem to me, if the “left” is disgusted by him, or afraid him being in power. Doing something about those root causes, would be the best way to disarm and defeat him…

No?

Besides sitting behind Carroll in court all day to try to creep her out where he'll pay a massive settlement for defaming her after raping her, the rump news of the day is whether he has syphilis.

Very exciting.

Trump nearly broke America. It is still feeling the effects from January 6th.
Do tell, what effects?

He talks about being a dictator and yesterday said if he wins in 2024 he might run again...which would break the constitution on term limits...
I can't believe your posting at 11:30am, The View is on and surely that is where you are getting all your talking points.

If Trump wins and he might, he would be wise to choose Haley as his running mate.

1) woman
2) woc (woman of colour). She would match up well against Harris
3) former governor of South Carolina
No way do I see that happening. In Trump's mind she's a traitor and cannot be trusted. She would also jeopardize the growing Libertarian voter base backing Trump. They'll sit out if she's on the ticket.

No doubt DeSantis is a very capable leader he just has electability issues, particularly in the rust belt states. Haley is capable as well and has diplomatic experience. But she's more establishment than populist.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd put DeSantis's personality at 1...sometimes a likeable guy matters, Obama got 2 terms because of it.

You have posted this question before and it's always pertinent. It seems to hardly garner much thought though.

If you just boil down to the issues that Trump keys on and ask are Washington Democrats actually try to solve problems. You can obviously ask question that of Republicans as well. Simultaneously repeating rhetoric sometimes in the same thread that he's an autocratic and he didn't getting anything done just overlooks that he doesn't act or sound like Washington politicians. That is certainly some of his appeal.
Well, he's more obviously senile than most. I grant you that.

Earpy, why aren't the House GOP-ers working on a compromise immigration reform bill, instead of their endless Hunter Biden horseshit?
I can give you the standard that Americans are less compliant and less tolerant of government. The Canadian audience might not understand. I would just say spend a month in California* and you would understand the effects and weakness of ever expanding government. There doesn't seem anyway to hold California's leaders accountable. Sacramento tries to work around the famous California propositions that voters pass. I think genuinely people have given up.

So if you're actually reading this with an open mind, it's not necessarily a matter of who and what is better for every Trump voter. I think it's more a matter of "I don't like Brand A or Brand B." This seems different and how the media, politicians and bureaucrats react to him suggests that much is true.

* California is slightly larger than Canada.
C'mon, Earp. Admit that you don't believe the nonsense that you write. 😹 😯 🐵 :D

He's too dumb. He'll pick someone who doesn't threaten him by being smart. Elisa Stefanik? Kristy Gnome?

Anyone else come to mind?

Do we want to talk about DeSantis' COVID denial speeches? That's his new thing.
Haley is capable as well and has diplomatic experience. But she's more establishment than populist.
If that means that she has an IQ above she-ass level and doesn't obviously grift and scam, I guess that makes her "establishment" in the new GOP.

Biden should replace Harris with some other running
mate more qualified to be his successor in the age
range of 45--55. Even better he could step down after
Trump wins the Republican primary election so his young
running mate can run with another more senior (but still
younger than Biden) VP candidate. A lot of voters are indeed
hesitant to vote for someone in his late 70s and early 80s.
That includes those inclined to vote for Trump as well.
