I've looked for a long time but can't find a long-lasting universal laptop battery. All I find are dodgy looking computer battery websites, etc. Anyone know a good one with a good price and from a reputable company?

Laptop batteries are specific to each notebook. You can not get a universal battery. You can get OEM or Knockoffs.
I have purchased a few different notebook batteries from one seller on ebay, and so far so good.

Bestbuy used to sell one but they took it off their website. It only had four hours capacity though. I have a Toshiba and can only find batteries specific to it that have max 4 hours life span. That's why I'm looking for a universal one. Aren't there any universal batteries with a good 5 - 8 hours?

The only thing like that, would be an external battery pack, that sits or clips underneath the notebook. They usually connect via an AC/DC combo adapter. They were taken off the market, as they were heavy, got extremely hot, and were relatively expensive.
Depending on the age of your notebook, even a 9 cell or 12 cell battery may only last 3-4 hours.
If you can post or PM me the part number or model number of your notebook, I'll see what I can find out for you.

Thanks S.F.S.! You pretty much answered my question. I guess what I'm looking for doesn't really exist; a universal battery with 8 hour capacity. I can get the battery specific to my laptop direct from Toshiba but it only lasts 3-4 hours and is a rip off.
