Avast 4.X is quite good in my case, it did pick up some trojans ( gambling site related ) from my puters and my thumb drives very recently.

Antivirus 2008 XP

Suddenly after linking to a travel website this logged into my computer and just freezes like a Pop UP on screen.

I have used Control/Alt Delete to go to tasks and ended it running. Then used Norton scan to remove it which quarateened it but it still comes on regularly.

I then looked those Add/remove section but it is hidden some where. Any suggestions on how to get it removed from computer.

It of course keeps wanting me to buy it and reports computer is littered with virus that it can clean up.

Thank YOU...appreciate any advice.

It means that even though you isolated the executable, you still have registry keys that give you those lovely popups. This, in the industry, is called a rogue anti-malware program.

Run ad-aware and spybot, but also DL and run this little gem someone from terb pointed out a while ago: www.malwarebytes.org

-Do a deep scan.
-Thank me.
:D

Thank YOU

Checked it out and will give it a try. Does not look expensive for the safety it provides.
