New York and Toronto.
Hmm. A little of both. Blacks were 15% more likely than others to get jail for the same offense. Maybe there is a reason why, maybe they were 15% more likely to scowl at the judge and roll their eyes. Maybe it is real bias. Who knows.

But 15% is only a small part of their overrepresentation. It would also appear they are more likely to do the crime.
The 15 percent is likely explained by court considerations like previous record, no job, not at college, alrready on bail, no remorse etc. In fact 15 percent is low considering.

Why is fuji even bringing up his comments on gangs?

This was not a gang issue.

This was a guy getting stabbed for confronting a guy who was harassing people on the TTC. Even if the slasher was in a gang (I don't know) this was not a gang related crime.
Gee maybe the OP sort of thought it would add value to people riding the TTC to know they did not have to worry about the slasher being one of the vast majority of fellow commuters?

Sort of a broad stroke identifier? I personally find it very prejudiced to NOT be able to use a generic identifier because it offends some people. Pick a word, "individual of dark skin", black, whatever.

Your example makes no sense..when was the last time a white guy inflicted that kind of crime on a black guy in Canada. Doesn't happen...so I can't answer your question.
LOL, you sound really prejudice.
Well James Ludwig did shoot shoot a black guy last year in Toronto.

The TTC might be bad but in NYC there are people pushing people off the platform onto the tracks to be killed by the train.

Also, a bit sexist. Why say "guy"? Can't you say "person"? "Stabbed by a person" sound much more politically correct.
Why do so many of you feel this need to be politically correct all the time? It's become completely asinine, you can't say or write anything without first neutralizing any reference to sex, age, race, creed or color. What he said was perfectly fine, the perp was a black male, nothing derogatory about that, it was a simple statement of facts. It's not as if he went off like Archie Bunker when he found out the Jefferson's moved in next door!

It is a good question and I like the Archie Bunker-Jefferson laugh. Keep in mind that you were responding to one of terb's gold medal trolls. Countless posts being harsh on the guy.

The issue of race first came up in post #3 and then it took on a life of its own. Some TERBies are concerned about using the "B" word in the headline. I'm neutral on the issue. It could be argued either way. I think this thread has ran its course as accusations of trolls are now being tossed around.

In other words, you have once again done a fine job of trolling.
