Good restaurant in Scarborough?

Is there a good restaurant in Scarborough (like downtown, west-end or Vaughan quality) that isn't part of a chain?

I've been to Auberge Du Pommiers (closer to Scarborough) but I'd rather go elsewhere, and it doesn't have to be as trendy and upscaly.

Go to Mandalay Fine Dining 3478 Lawrence Ave East, they have great food and it is a nice tucked away restaurant. When i first went there i thought where am i going but it is probably the best place to eat in Scarborough.If you want a white tablecloth type place.

There used to be Barclay's Steak house which was very good. I don't know if it's still there but you can check. It was mainly steak and seafood and wasn't cheap even way back then.

But seriously I agree with the 2nd poster...From the sound of it you are looking for a fine-dining kind of place, so there ain't much to choose from in Scarberia

But if you want good food, steeles/silver star area has some decent asian cuisines.

But seriously I agree with the 2nd poster...From the sound of it you are looking for a fine-dining kind of place, so there ain't much to choose from in Scarberia

But if you want good food, steeles/silver star area has some decent asian cuisines.

Of course. Woodbridge has some excellent Italian restaurants. Also some in Richmond Hill. But I don't to go there since I'll be in Scarberia.

Out of these, what are the most decent? I don't want fast food or burgers. White tablecloth as someone else said.

OK, I will admit that I don't spend a lot of time in Scarborough, but I do not think that "good restaurant" and Scarborough go in the same sentence. I'm sure if you try to Google map it, you won't get many hits.

That was my sentiment which is why I asked. Surely, there's got to be something decent without it being a chain restaurant.

Barclays used to be a top notch classy restaurant. Don't know if it still is as it's been a few years. Google it and see what the recent customer comments have to say about it.

For good Italian food, Fratelli's in Highland Creek. Downside is that they don't take reservations, so things can get a little backed up.
