Seems like you've done a decent amount of traveling. You seem to still push Havana so your starting to convince me. Funny part is about Puerto Rico, I like the idea of fast food joints everywhere. I heard the food in Cuba is blah....

I wouldn't travel for fast food or actually for any food. Toronto is full of good food.
Food in cuba is not the best but I am told Havana restaurant scene is changing.
Cuban food does tend to be blah because the embargo doesn't allow many spices to be imported. I suggest bringing hot sauce if you go to a lower end resort to mask the flavourless food.
Gillian, I was honestly hoping that with all our support you would not even know how the inside of a lower end resort looks like!
I went to Jamaica by myself about four years ago. Near Ocho Rios. I managed to find a private rental of a guesthouse for $60 Canadian a week through their local paper The Gleaner. I stayed for three weeks. It was a nice time and I loved not being on a resort, which I find so limiting. You see the same people all week. Try that if you're really looking to experience the country.
Well, I did something similar in Jamaica a few years ago.The problem is, I want the best of both worlds. I love how on the resort you have a limitless amount off booze, pop and food. I also love the pool and beach on the resort. Seeing the same people all the time is exaclty my problem. I'm heavily leaning towars Havana.

My experience with swingers clubs is limited to Toronto, but I have reason to believe it'd be the same anywhere.
The experience for single men is much, much different than that for single women or couples. While single women tend to be welcomed with open arms, single men are almost actively discouraged from attending (higher fees, completely different set of rules..). The fantasy of an average looking single guy going to a swingers club and hooking up with hot women really is just that - a fantasy. For sure, there are exceptions that prove the rule.. but IMHO, swingers clubs are more trouble than they're worth for single guys.

I have been down south to a few of the countries and out of all of them I love going to Cuba the most.
Reason being in a lot of the other countries you see a lot of Americans and not enough Europeans, but in Cuba there are a lot of Europeans from many different countries.
My last trip to Varadero I met 2 very good looking Swedish girls that I hung out with for 3 days and also a group of Italian girls that were very open minded.
Also if Europeans are not your cup of tea there are always the Cuban locals that are willing to sleep with you.
Having been to Mexico a few times that is one place I would not recommend.
Brilliant. When the world gives you lemons...Omg Jillian this is something new. In any event what you do you find somebody who is less repulsive than others and kinda hire them as a guide and have them with you when you are out and about. It costs next to nothing and other beggars don't bother you when you have an escort. You practice Spanish and find out about their life etc.
Im like 99% sold on Havana. I would like to go back to Rio De Janeiro but but that trip would cost me about a thousand over my budget. Pluse already done it twice so Havana would be a nice change. I've actually been to Cuba before but it was on a resort wich was on a private Island so you couldn't hang with the locals or anything.
do you research and figure out where you want to stay. Women in Cuba somehow are situated far from the beaches and sea. Some hobbyists rent casas particular only ($30/day or so) and hunt women 24/7, some stay on resort and sometimes go look for women, and most seasoned travelers pay for both hotel (as part of the package it's almost th same as the tickets would have been anyways) and for the casa. All of these options plus unlimited pooning are within your reported budget ($2.5K).
Funny, I started this thread like 10 months ago. I actually won't be taking the vacation now until feb. I'm still thinking Havana or maybe that blackbeard place mentioned above.
