I'm giving Hushed app a go. can use on current phone and just bump up credits with a Google Play card as needed
That will work.

And if you ever need to change your phone# just delete the app, re-register under a different handle or email addy, and then ask for a new phone#

EDIT: just checked that app, they do charge 5 cents per min. on calls: https://hushed.com/pricing/

You dont really get a paper trail or a contract with Burner app. You just get charged $5 a month to your paypal acct and thats it. On your CC bill it will just show up as 'paypal google play'
You have to enter a number to get an access code with the burner app.

Just don't commit a crime with your new number oh wait.....

Right, and with Hushed app you have to give your credit card number, your email addy and your IP address from whatever computer connection you're using

LOL. burner phone is the best. Get yourself a shitty phone with a SIM card and top up (paying cash) from either petro Canada or 7/11. Turn the phone off when you are not using. I prefer this method
If you wanna play everything 100% safe, this is the way to go.

EDIT: to play everything completely safe remove the battery from the phone while not using it, this prevents pings back to the celltower every minute..... *removes tinfoil hat*

GTA & Thereabouts...
+1 or BurnerApp and the locked PIN code. I have a 905 number so I am never letting it go. It is my 'second line'.

Told my wife that I got the App for free and use it for selling shit on Kijiji.

I discovered another reason to have a burner phone today. I was typing a text message. As soon as I entered a letter the name of a lady I texted 4 months ago appeared in the bar that tries to predict what you are going to type, even though I had deleted the previous texts. I don't have an SO so I will not have to explain why a chick's name appears when I type a letter a on my phone.

And don't use it within range of a Samsung Television. They are spying on you.

lmao...exactly. appreciate the info. I just need a phone for local text and calls. No contract or paper trail. I'll figure it out. Thanks
By default Freedom Mobile (Was Wind) doesn't do paper billing.

Their cheapest smartphone is $99 (With 3 other phones at $149), and their cheapest phone is $50. Here's the thing, they have 'pay before' (prepaid) and 'pay after' (yes you have credit) service. Off the top of m head talk and text is about $25/mo, and decent data plans are $35/mo. Assuming you don't want this phone to show up on your credit history just buy a cheap phone from them outright, and then go on 'pay before' (AKA- prepaid). That way there is no contract and has no ability to show up on your credit, and all you have to do it walk into the store and pay in cash (if you don't want it on your bank statements). The employees won't give too many fucks in this case, but they will probably want ID, just don't give them a home / work number or a credit card.
