What's your favorite course to play that's not super extra busy but is challenging enough and pretty enough to be fun... and isn't highly overpriced. Let's say within 150 km of toronto.... I'm not from here and I want to know where the hidden gems are....

drive towards Barrie, courses are cheaper and more affordable. The GTA is mainly filled with private or city owned courses that are dirt tracks at a ridiculous price. I like Mill Run in Uxbridge, they usually have specials for all you can play and is a pretty big track. Westview is a great course after 4pm, its 27 holes all you can play and playing with the sunset is always great, the design of the course makes it a much more cooler climate to play in. Deer Creek is another affordable course but it can get really busy during the day.

Osprey's Heathlands is in great shape, the 2nd cut of rough is unreal. I lost several balls just a few feet off the fairway......when I found one I could advance it only a few yards....
Blew my brains out, but I'm going back soon!

Best value/challenge right now is Settler's Ghost just north of Barrie on Horseshoe Valley Road. This is it's second full year of 18 hole operation and it is like the course has been there for 20 years. They are on the web but I am not sure of the URL - do a search.
