Shang Chi became the highest grossing film of the pandemic era - even though it's an uneven film.
The first half of the film was everything I could ask for, the martial arts was fabulous. Simu demonstrating his life's work to the fullest. The second half was strange, almost as if they didn't have faith in Simu, changing format. It was typical Disney CGI bum fluff, they tried to turn the film into
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (no wonder the Chinese hated it), it failed miserably - my WTF moment. Disney shouldn't interfere, Simu has the charisma to become an Oriental Sean Connery.
The films success salves the wound left by the loss of
Kim's Convenience. Hong Shing has been around since before Simu was born!
