The link Fritz96 posted is a good indication of why it won't be Hillary. There is an extensive vetting process that anyone considered for VP goes through, and the Obama team evidently hasn't talked to her at all. The other clue is how much time has been set aside for both Hillary and Bill to speak at the convention. Obama was very generous in giving them prime-time spots to bask in the adulation from their admirers. Smart move on his part. The Clintons certainly won't be able to say they've been snubbed. Whether they realize this could be their swan song is hard to tell.

People make the mistake about this so-called vetting process for VP ... Hilary Clinton has already been vetted in the Primaries, so it would be a political insult to haul her in to apply for the job. The vetting process is important for potential candidates that haven't been through an extensive look see in the primaries either because they weren't in them or they never had a prayer and the press didn't turn over every stone.

Not sure if I really buy that. Hillary has been vetted on many things, but that Obama's team apparently didn't even call her in once to ask, "anything else you can tell us?", says alot. Given the Clinton's history I wouldn't consider it an insult by the Obama campaign. I would consider it pragmatic.

Its far from a sure bet, Obama is getting in. McCain could pull it off, Bushie did it twice.

I have been an Obama fan ever since Edwards started to slip in Jan but now I kind of dislike both of them--for different reasons.

Heck the only D whos been president who seems OK to me, is that Jimmy Cater guy....yeah, I recall the late 70's, he was a joke then but hes right about the middle east and he was right about saving engery. It was Reagan who screwed up the engery policy for the USA.

And Jimmy--for all we know--didn't go Bimbo hopping, like Clinton and Edwards.

Obama still could turn out to be OK but then again, he seems unsure of himself sometimes and too sure on other days.

If does pick Hillary--does look unlikely--that be it, as far as i care. The guy just be another jerk , with lots of company
