My understanding is that these ads are usually by gay men looking to service straight men. Never felt the need to try it so it's just a hunch, but we've had ads like this in Peterborough for ages and I'm pretty damn sure that's whats involved.

They are. I inquired once to confirm my hunch, and they are very upfront about it.

Agreed it's messed up but not surprising if you see an ad for a totally anonymous glory hole BJ for $10.

I used to see a similar ad (in Mississauga, I think) about about a glory hole set up that sounded especially grimy and obviously a guy. It was someone who had rented a storage locker, and basically said "just come in the locker, I'll be waiting inside a box, just stick your dick in the hole, no talking allowed,"
