Ghostings or no shows?

I just wanted to get everyone's experience on this. So I recently came back into the hobby after a few years off. I found one independent SP that had a few great reviews, and many repeats. I reached out and asked her her availability, and I thought we booked a time (this could be the miscommunication point between us). I message an hour before the appointment with my eta (her rule and just being courteous), when I park, and about 10 minutes later after my requested time. I message one last time at the 20 minute mark saying I'm leaving now and maybe we could rebook. Since then, I haven't received any word from her, so i'll chalk it up as i didn't make it past the screening (?).

What's everyone's threshold when it comes to communication and being stood up?

My threshold is zero.

That's just one of the reasons I stopped seeing indies, and for years now have only seeing agency ladies.

Indies often double book to avoid no-shows on their end, and , in that case, will make up a cancellation excuse when you try to confirm day of, or just ghost you if you're new to them.

Agencies don't do that, as clients rarely no-show with them due to being the possibility of being blacklisted, and once you confirm with the agency "day of", it is very rare that your session will be cancelled. And even if the lady herself cancels her shift, the agency will contact you to advise of the cancellation.

My threshold is is one follow-up email or text, if they don't respond no issue as we have so many great options. We can't take it personal, even though it does leave a mark. The good ones though ill always respond and those are the ones you want and respect. Its actually a blessing when this happens (far and few) because it makes us realize who is worthy of our time and money. Those are the ones the care and approach this hobby with a kindness towards us. Which at least for me is very sexy.

I've been lucky in that I've never been ghosted by a reputable Indy. I usually mention any flexibility at booking time. I don't do anything really special on my end. In lieu of other instructions I will always send a confirmation text early the day of. Maybe that ups the confidence I'll show? I'm also not shy about reasonable deposits (a small amount to a nondescript email address) to reputable providers. 🤷
